I had 30 that passed inspection. So I loaded 6 each with 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, and 20 grains of 2400. I shot 5 shot groups and 1 at a water filled cranberry juice bottle from 20 yards. There was a 25 gusting to what ever the heck MPH crosswind. Not the best conditions for testing. The 19.5 grain load did the best, just under 4". Not bad for me and the conditions. Now I need to cast some more and fine tune the load. The most impressive thing was the way they exploded the bottles. Cranberry juice bottles are tougher than milk jugs. Other loads just leave entrance and exit holes. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Cast is great. You should see what a large caliber does to a jug of water at 100 yards. I like the 2 liter pop bottles, my grandson empties a lot of them. I hate paper targets!
Before hunting season we set them at all distances and angles so we can practice from the ladder stand. A mess to clean up and get them up to the recycle bin but a lot of laughs.

What caliber? I have Keith design boolits in .32, .357, and .44. None for the .45 yet.

I hope you love Keith bullets. I have used 20 grains of #2400 behind a 250gr #429421 and love it. 5 grains of Bullseye makes a fun plinker load, 8.5 grains Unique is a good easy shooter, and 10 grains Unique is ideal for less than full power. Just started playing with Ramshot Enforcer( a substitute for #2400, which I can't find right now)and it shows great promise.
I am like Mr.Smith: I have Keith bullet molds in many calibers. I have a NEI 451 265K that makes a fine 270 grain bullet for .45 Colt. Can recommend it or the similar RCBS 270K.

.44 the gun is the one in my avatar. I have some more loaded up and hope to do more testing today. 19.3gr, 19.4gr, 19.5gr, 19.6gr and 19.7gr. Hopefully the weather will be better and I will have a better rest. Starting to work on my hunting loads early this year. Had trouble last year and want better results.

The Keith will indeed do well for deer. I have the RCBS for the .44 and I just use 7 gr of Unique or 6.5 gr of 231 for fun, no need for more powder. Tin can accurate to 50 yards. 2400 is fine for hunting.
Now you have my interest, what did you use last year and what happened?
