annealing nickel-plated brass?

does anyone anneal nickel-plated brass?

if you do can you see the color change? or is there some other way?

I'm using the torch and socket in drill method personally.

I have, 30-'06, but only out of sheer desperation. It seemed to work fine but I just didn't like doing it and never really quite figured out why.

My concern would be overheating. Do you have extra to practice on??

annealing is done by temperature.
you won't get the nickel hot enough to affect it but you will still anneal the brass.
color means nothing except you probably went too far.
