I got froggy this mornin', so I decided to refit my casting shed. My casting table had been located centered on the back wall of the shed and I didn't like that anymore.

I cut a hole in the wall high on one end and installed an exhaust fan. When I got done with that, I pulled everything out of the shed in the near right corner and built a new table, complete with a coupla' shelves.

Here's a view from the other end of the shed. That new piece of plywood above the table is an insert in the window frame. That's removeable for light and air.

And here's one from standing in front of the casting table.

Now I gotta' get in there and make some boolits!

Well, the whole shed ain't dedicated to casting, but that corner of it is. The rests of it's a storage for tools and junk.

Rick, I have a building dedicated to casting and loading. It is called a house.
Least that is what the wife seems to think........

That's probably the only way I could get a casting bench to look that neat, is build a new one.

Is that your sprue knocker leaning against the stud at the left side of the bench?

Nah, that's an old clunker (legally) sawed off 20 gauge. I keep that out there in case I need a little more horsepower than I can get outa' my little 9X18 that's on my hip. We've seen a coupla' aggresive dogs around here in the past, so I keep a round of #3 buck in it.

That is a nice setup. Is that a pot turned upside down on the hot plate with a mold handles sticking out? I guess to hold the heat in when pre-heating the mold. I like the lid over the lead pot, I guess to also hold the heat in while heating up the lead for casting.

Pretty close there, WV. That's a number 10 food can cut down to size and butchered to fit the mold on the preheater. What's over the pot is an old stainless cat food bowl butchered to fit the thermometer in the pot.
