I've been posting about that little 'Mom & Pop' shop I deal with. I went out today to pick up some stuff I had ordered and visit a bit. I had my camera in the truck (imagine that!), so I took a coupla' photos.

The front of the shop. Yup, that's all it is.

The inside. Yup, that's all it is.

I showed up out there yesterday about 11 AM. Miss Jeanette told me she was about to drive to the Express Mart and pick up a lunch order she had called in and asked me if I had had lunch. "No Ma'am." She called 'em back and ordered a cheeseburger for me and insisted on paying for it.

I think a man would be hard pressed to find a gunshop like that.

Hard to find places like that nowadays. Most places want you to buy something and get out. Around my area, the last gunshop we had that the owner actually enjoyed you hanging around and jawing, closed up over a year ago after the owner died from cancer. I sure miss it.

Maybe I'm weird, but to me, those pictures say AMERICA.

Pretty neat Jim.

I sure miss it.

My favorite gun shop closed up many, many moons ago and I haven't found a replacement. It's on the list of things I miss.
Thanks for posting pics Jim.

Most places want you to buy something and get out.
Some places I go to don't even want you to come in.

It's funny how you can look and a store and it's owners and just know they can be trusted.

Their shop reminds me of the one where I bought my first single cavity Lyman mould some 40 years ago.

I've had a few gun shops that made me feel welcome, mebbe a bit too welcome. A couple have even treated me as an unpaid employee. I'll answer questions, help customers find ammo and merchandise, explain features & benefits of firearms and can even run a cash register and credit card machine if need be.
That may be coming to an end, my last remaining hangout was owned by a friend I did business with for over thirty years. We lost him a year ago last week, just isn't the same anymore.
I wish there were more folks like Harold and Miss Jeanette.
