Been cogitating on sending Erik a .30 design to alter... still thinking. Haven't taken the measurements yet for bearing lengths and location if I go that route.

What he said. If you cant make a Loverin design work, find a new hobby.

GC, any .30 cal that casts near .316 would seem a good candidate. They're already bore diameter without sizing and two wraps of .003 will make it .327 or so which would seem about right for the throat.

Ditto's on the excellence of Loverin designs.

Got a great big ol' 308284 in the box that could maybe be enlarged to cast that large in diameter and approximate the original hefty 1888 loading. When I get the time I will cast some up and patch them to see what they measure and where to go from there.

If you want a gc boolit NOE 326407 casts @.326 ww+lino/188gr. I use it in my Marlin 1893 32 sp(.326 groove )

Hi
I have used the Lee 175gr 8mm bullet sized to .315 in a push through and patched to .325. Works nicely and right away too ,no problems. Many of my other calibers weren't so easy.
