I am down to the wire. I have chosen the TC Venture predator so I can get the same rifle in .223 Rem or 22-250 Rem. Both have a 1-12 twist. Brass/dies/ammo not a factor I have both. I want to develop some cast boolit loads and really hope to get one that will shoot cast well. I would rather shoot cast exclusively in this rifle and hopefully the RCBS 22 50 gr SP that I already have a mold for. I have read the other thread about the 22 cf rifles and was hoping to get some of you 22 cf cast shooters to help me with this. I am probably going to get the snow camo, not a great choice for Mississippi, but I like it!

Thanks, Malcolm PS: I have read some great reviews on the Venture rifle.

223 but a 222 Rem with 1-14" twist would be even better for cast boolits.
Splitting hairs though. My 12 twist Rem 700 VLS shoots great with cast.
Never pushed it to see how fast it would go. It's running 2123fps now.

this will make it worse i'm sure.
I use the same load in my 223 bolt gun as I use in my 22-250 and 220 swift.
same powder charge, and boolit.
I also get the same drop, groups, etc.
the difference is price of brass and primer availability.
I prefer to shoot my 223,and 220 swift over shooting the 22-250 but that's a rifle fit choice and nothing else.

If those are your only choices, then the 223. I agree with GabbyM that the 222 is a better choice for cast, if you can get it. I just don't like a big case with a low loading density, especially if you try any of the slower powders.

Thanks for the input. I would love a 222 but they are hard to find. I will give it a couple more days of thought.
