Greetings
For a limited time there is a display at the local State Museum of arms that were used at a nearby battle back about 1880.
Took a few photos of the interesting Winchesters on display.

Greetings Reg
For years Peru with Bolivia had strained relations with Chile that goes back to the late 1500's. territorial disputes based on gold -silver mines, salt-peter and some nitrate gathering were the main causes. No one really wanted the driest place on earth except it is still well endowed with minerals. So about 1878 Peru announced it was going to nationalise all the mines cutting Chile out of the cake. Chile had millions to loose so decided a nice little war would solve maters. Chile was far better prepared and in the end Peru and Bolivia lost. It was not until 1928 that a big chunk of what is now the state of tacna was returned to Peru. But that is only a small piece of the whole territory Chile took over.
