Im loading a lee 150gr wc in front of 3gr trail boss.i set the bullet on a few out to the next lube groove. It sticks out about another 1/8th or so. What does this do to the bullet? IE.. velocity,pressure..etc... thanx, nixpap

makes more room in the case and lowers pressure slightly.
it also moves it out into the throat where it may help alignment better.

it might or not be more accurate.

What caliber. What barrel length? Revolver or fixed breech?

Runfiverun, I think, has it right. I had one and like most rugers it was not finicky about boolits. Have you tried much full house 357 in it yet? You are in for a treat. Im not that sensitive to recoil but that convinced me to run 38's thru it for everythng except carry.

I doubt you will tell any difference with the bullet seated as you describe or seated flush. I have seated wadcutters flush, to a "crimp" groove with 1/8" of the bullet beyond the mouth, and up to 1/4" out of the mouth (just enough to clear cylinder face). No great difference shooting .38s in my Taurus 2" or 4" revolvers, and similar results in my .44 Magnums (actually the "long seated" rounds were a bit less accurate). BTW; my "house gun" is loaded with 150 gr. DEWC over a stiff load of W231.

Ive shot a few full house 357 rnds. It felt better than a snappy 38. Now that the good weather is here, i can shootem outside.
