I don't know if many of you have seen this, maybe I'm re-hashing old news. I ran across this and found it pretty interesting.

My state in #47.
Only kal-la-fornicate, ny and nj are lower.
How sad.
Sister lives in Tennesse, #3.
I always wondered why she moved. How I know.

Hey. Texas is #14. We should be #1 or 2, as far as I am concerned. There was something about victimless crimes, such as marijuana possession. I couldn't understand if they were saying to liberalize the laws for that or not. Also, about raising the incarceration rate to the national "norm". Again, not sure of that. If it's liberalization, I'm agin it. Far as I'm concerned, no let up on the druggies. A big PITA for society. Big stink right now in the legislature about tying drug testing to welfare. SO? I was in the military and got tested regularly. As a relief bus driver, same-same. What's so hard about this? Don't do it. Period.

The rating that matters most is the personal freedoms ranking. Tenn. is in the top 5 over all but is #24 is personal freedoms. South Dakota is rated #2, but only because of low taxes and and no regulations on industry, yet in personal freedoms they are #46. I personally would rather put up with with a bit higher taxes, and a bit of regulation on industry and have my personal freedom to choose the way I want to live and what I want to do, because the more personal freedom I have in all reality the more fiscal and regulatory freedoms I will have in the future, because I have the freedom to exact change on the other two.

Best wishes,

Joe
