Been thinking about haunting E**Y for one of these. My Marlin 1894SS .44 Mag could use a GC boolit in the 275-290 range. Trouble is, I'm a little concerned that if I get my hands on one it won't cast at least .433" diameter which is what my Marlin likes.

Anybody have one of these or have experience with one. If so, what diameter did it cast of straight wheelweight?

Thanks,

Dutch....mine casts .429 and some change with WWs.

I've "beagled" it and use at .431 in both the .44 Mag and in the .444 Marlin. One of my best shooting bullets in the .444./beagle

Isn't the 429640 the same thing as the current 44 Devastator HP without the HP? You could buy one and make a nose plug to give a solid boolit. I think mine runs around .432, but all my stuff is still in boxes and it will take a while to find that one...

Old thread, but I'm getting .432 out of mine. Great bullet in my Winchester Trapper (44 Mag). And yest, the 429640 in the flat-nose is the same bullet as the Devastator Hollow-point. I have both moulds. Great bullets!
