What is the fastest you have pushed any boolit? I wood like answers about all sorts of lube, hardness, band types anything. Just curious. thanks!
Edit: Forgot to say "with accuracy and no leading"

I'm more interested in accuracy and efficiency than pure speed. But my records show in my earlier days when I was immortal and indestructible I built a 44 magnum load for a 245 grain cast boolit that yielded 1,611 fps from my Ruger Super Redhawk. At least that's what my PACT2 told me. The boolit was Lyman's 429421 and the lube was theirs too.

The rifle guys can beat that though, but what they'll most often brag about (and rightly so) is the accuracy level, lack of bore leading, group size and etc. Shooting to me is more of a marathon than a sprint.

Just over 3000fps out of a 300RUM, but it was paper patched.

If using regular cast bullets there is often a big difference between "speed" (as in the fastest you have pushed a cast bullet) and "speed with accuracy" (the fastest you have pushed a cast bullet and maintained consistent useable accuracy). Many times the two mix as well as oil and water.........there are reasons and while the specifics you ask for are part of it they are only a small part.........

I push 2000 fps with a AC'd 311466 cast of ternary alloy of 80/20 linotype/lead (2650 fps with a bit of Cu added) out of my 27 1/2" Palma barrel with 14" twist in .308W and maintain 1 1/2 moa with 10 shot groups at 300 yards. Lube is Javelina or 2500+ and Hornady GCs are used. Bullet is sized to .311 with the front band and half of the second band at .300.

2,586 fps using #2 alloy with about .25% Cu , water quenched from the mould, sized .360", gator check, shot in my 357max Ruger #1. My own lube blend, made from 4 other commercially available lubes. Little under 2" group/100yds. Lyman 358156 boolit

near 2800 in 22 cal with under 1/2" groups, littlegirl posted 3-4 of the groups.
I have taken my 358 win to full jaxketed velocity of 2400 but shoot it closer to 2300 normally.
i'm right near 2300 in the 10 twist 308 now, but have gone over 2400 in other 30 cal rifles.
hopefully by fall I will make it 2500+ in another 30 cal rifle.

this is all with accuracy commensurate with each rifle.
if you just want pure speed I have been at/over jaxketed velocity without leading or good accuracy in several rifles.

Dan, had good success with that one.

if you want pure speed with easy success and good accuracy get a 358 win or 35 whelen and work with those.

That is post-graduate level cast boolit shooting. Walk, before you try to run.
