That's about right. I saw a box of Reminton Hollowpoints, they weren't even Golden Sabers. A box of 50 was 54.00.

I just picked up 400 rounds of 7.62x39 for $200 for a friend that's .50 a round for stuff that can't be reloaded. He was happier than a kid with a new puppy that I found it at that price.

Check out Guns and Arrows in Gardnerville. Right around $35.00 a box of 9mm plinking ammo. They have a sweet nickel Colt Python in 357 magnum.

That was the price of 45 ACP last year now I hear its double that!! That was the reason I started to reload again!! I figure it costs me less than 5bucks a box for 9mm with my handmade boolits!

Dropped into the Bulls eye shop a few months back when they were over in the industrial area ....
But have yet to step into Guns an Arrows or High Desert Guns .....
Trying to control the finances , the slap the hand thing , if I step into a shop , it would be so easy to walk out a little heavier .
Besides , we are so spoiled here in this beautiful area with 3 different gun shops within a couple miles. (not to mention Carson City, Reno )
Or even the occasional garage sale that might have that one exceptional gun that that we heard about ...[smilie=1:

Yep. Nevada sure is nice. I really hope they don't screw it up...

On a side note I may be moving closer your way this winter. It's time to put down roots.

Last time I bought ammo, I paid $34 for a box of 20 Weatherby Brand 300 Weatherby Magnum 180gr. But then again 300 weatherby isn't NATO, plinking caliber, or on any ban list like the more popular 9mm, 22lr, 5.56/223, etc

That sounds like a cheap price there.

Sure makes reloading cost effective, even with the hazmat fees! Yikes.

Cheap price. Double that a few weeks back at gun show, not many buying
at those prices.

I saw people asking $50 to 90 for a brick of .22 LR, nothing special, just ordinary
ammo.

Sheesh! I load my 9mm with COMMERCIAL plated bullets and i still manage to do it for $13/100, so i tend to cringe at $15/50 for practice ammo, much less paying .45 ACP price for a box! If i had a 9mm mold it would be even cheaper than that, but i am happy with what i have, and that price makes it even better! And to think people used to say it wasn't worth it to load 9mm...

LGS wanted $34.95 for box of 50 .32 ACP yesterday. The same box was $14.99 in November.

You guys are giving me the chills , thank goodness I do not have to buy ammo these days .
I can see the numbers picking up on the "closet queens" as time goes by tho.

My first (and only) box of factory ammo for the S&W 500 was $54 for a box of 20.

On the other side I was rumaging through my reloading stuff and found 2 boxes of gold dot bullets that I paid under $6 for. I could probably get $30-$35 a box if I tried selling them.............
