Managed to locate and purchase several hundred RCBS .338 200 grain Flat nose GC from a local caster who IIRC uses them in his old .33 winchester lever gun.
Had previously only shot available PB .338 cast and had good results with Trailboss powder and hoping to get similar results with these GC'd ones with the same powder loads.

Ruger .338 24 " bl. 3x9 Scopechief Federal cases Win mag primers
.338 RCBS GC 2 wraps teflon tape. actual wt 212 grains.

***these loads are not in any reloading manual****

16.0..16.5..17.0 grains Trailboss all shot about 2 inch 3 shot groups / 75 yds

17.5 grains Trailboss shot 0.470 inch 3 shots/ 75 yds.
18.0 grains Trailboss shot 1.10 inch 3 shots/75 yds.
18.5 grains trailboss shot 0.75 inch 3 shots/75 yds

Loads were not chrony'd this date but 17.5 gr TBoss yielded 1450 Fps avg. with
200 gr plain base a while back when tested and was also the best group of that string.

Lyman # 45 manual gave an accuracy load of 31.0 gr. Imr4198 @ 1908 fps in a 24 in. brl. with a 203 gr GC.

Same components were used for these loads as with Trail boss loads.

29.0 gr IMR4198 3 shots/ 75 yds/ 0.75 inch
29.5.....0.50 inch
30.0.....2 touch and third makes it 1.10 inch
30.5....0.95 inch

The Lyman accuracy load of 31.0 grains Imr4198 was shot at the 100-200 yd range as it was now available and gave / 3 shots/ 1.10 inch./ 100 yds.

Was wondering if any one else had any .338 cast loads that proved accurate useing other powders that I could try...thx
