Once upon a time, I tried loading that boolit - sized down to .310 - in both the .308 and the .30-06 but initial results didn't justify further development. As I recall, I also had some chambering problems due to the 'as cast' nose diameter (.303-.304) of my mould. I know I tried both IMR4198 and H4895 but would have to go back through my old notebooks to look up any details.

The 312-160 or the 312-155 boolits work well in my 30 cal rifles, specifically my Garand when I size them to .311, And that is mostly just to crimp on the gas check. They do not have the fat nose but are more pointed and might be a better choice. I am currently having fun with that 309-230 boolit in my 308.

I tried it but the fat nose was too big for the Leade/bore diameter and shoved the bullet into the case well below the case neck......could have sized the nose down but have other properly dimensioned moulds that fit w/o the additional sizing.

I must have gotten lucky with mine! It has .314 bands and a .300 nose. Sized to .312" it was the salvation of my .310" bore FN 30'06.

No it's not for sale.

I use the 312-185 sized to .311" in a couple of .308's. Actually 7.62 Nato chambers -- a 2A Ishapore that could probably stand a bigger dia, the throat is loooong; and a 98 Mauser with one of the Parker-Hale take off barrels that were floating around ebay for $60.00 ten years ago.

16.0 grains of 2400 has worked for me so far.
