We lost our daughter 4/1/13

Smijen48 & I lost our daughter on the first. She will always be 17 and was beautiful, smart and a child of God. She lost control and hit another man head on in a bad curve. Both were dead on scene. Please pray for those left behind in both families.

Jenny (smijen48) and I are holding on and trying to be there for the rest of the kids and have faith we will make it out the other side thru this.

We will pray for you. We lost our beautiful 21 year granddaughter in similar circumstance several years ago, also on April first. It was a very dark time. It does get better but there will always be a hole in your hearts and lives. We are able to fondly remember her and reminisce most days without the overwhelming sorrow, but April first and major holidays can be tough still.

I know how it hurts. I lost my daughter 2 years ago suddenly also.

Someone once told me that the lord gets tired of seeing us old folks and SELECTS a SPECIAL young one to share his home with.

I miss my daughter all ways but particularly on VETERANS DAY. "Dad when we were growing up you always said your birthdays and holidays did not count. I do not want or need any presents just you".

So on vets day she would always come by and say HAPPY VETS day.

Just try to remember her smile and the little things that made both of you smile.

Your daughter is in the very best of all possible hands (the song "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" comes to mind), and is almost certainly grieving herself for having been (temporarily) deprived of your company.

I do feel your pain. My wife and I lost our 4th child, 28 years young, in October 2008. Almost 5 years. The hurt doesn't go away. We also have 4 other children and 4 grandkids to help with easing the loss. I am heartily sorry for you and your wife.

My granddaughter who has always been with us turns 16 next month. She has been practicing with her learner's permit fo a while now, but I can't help but worry every time she drives. Having read this late I can not fathom the death of a child, but the salvation of one to the Lord. CHRISTmas time, and it being the first without her, will seem like a hollowness where there was once love in your heart. I am speaking this only due to my prodigal child and the hollowness I feel this year. I pray the Lord's peace and grace to you and your family.
