Thanks guys! It wasn't that hard. Ricochet Roy actually sends you the blunt needles needed and the thread plus instructions on how to make a perfect baseball stitch!

I've ordered a couple more for my wife's rifles because she liked it too and I have ZERO knowledge of sewing!

You can check them out and order them here:

I don't know if you did it or not, but you should put some sort of corrosion preventative on the lever before wrapping it. I use cosmoline, just because I have it, but any long lasting coating will do. I have had to replace the lever on a 336 and refinish more than one because of rust under wraps and lacings. Looks good by the way!

Nice job there sir. I like the looks of it, but I will probably just wear gloves. ;-)

Yeah it's purely cosmetic guys and the wrap is pretty much soaked in leather oil so it's nice and supple but extremely strong (I wanted it tight so I pulled the hell out of it and NO sign of tears or anything).

The maker does warn you about getting it soaked but I think I'll simply soak it with gun oil when I clean the gun. It you do happen to get it soaked, Roy will sell you the thread and needles to restitch it for $2.50.............

My Marlin 375 Win (rebored) is also wrapped and I really like it. Love the stitching you did.

As mention about corrosion it is from the tanning salts. Ever see a hand gun that was stored in a leather holster, the gun will look like it was rusted.

I wrapped the lever on my 1895gbl with paracord

I waxed the metal before I wrapped it btw

I put lever wraps on all my lever rifles, but I use moose hide for mine. I use a heavy wax on the lever before wrapping, too. For mine, I don't wrap around the bottom of the loop, just the area where the knuckles hit the lever. It really makes a big difference when shooting fast in SASS matches.

Hope this helps.

I did the same idea with mine with a synthetic cord/rope.

I like the idea of wraps, but my danged fingers are so big, they only just fit anyway. haha!
