Seems I have a few hungry revolvers in 45 Colt and my supply of boolits was getting critically low. I had a brand-new RD 454-290 mould that I bought when Michael closed up shop as well as my trusty Lyman 452424. Took me awhile to get my rhythm down for the Lyman but soon had a respectable pile of frosty boolits for my BP revolvers. Then I warmed up my new RD mould and that big six-banger took awhile to figure out, had furnace issues as well but all of a sudden everything came together and I had an even bigger pile of my new hunting boolits. Some days you just need a bigger furnace! :D
Great day for casting, neighbors even had a rowdy game of kickball going on for added entertainment.

I cast today with a new to me 358-158 RF six cav . mould today. The mould isn't marked and they drop at 165 gr.I didn't think it would cast that heavy with WW. Removing the BB may have added a few grains.I like the looks of it and may have to have it hollowpointed to lighten it up. I'll have to see how they shoot. I have one son who shoots a 357 Mag. but feed three 38 spc. that get shot most.

Man... I have cast my butt off this weekend. I cast up over 500 NOE-452-230 RFHP, then ran them through the Lyman 4500 for a trade that for some WC844. Then turned around and cast 300 358402s (An Ideal 356402 opened up to 358) to feed my 9mms and .38s. And to top it all off, helped a friend move from one house to another. So I guess you could say I'm a little sore this evening...

I guess next session will be a smelting session. Have too many WW's to do it in my standard Lee 20#, guess it's time to invest in a turkey fryer and a cheap Dutch oven.

You won't regret having a larger burner and a dutch oven for smelting. It makes it much easier.
