Any one using a scout scope on a 16 inch Rossi 92 357, does it add weight make it less handy or do you find it a benefit when hunting.

I have a 20" carbine that I have a pistol scope on. I use it for load development mainly and some target shooting. It only weighs 8 oz so weight is not a big deal. Field of view is fairly narrow so that would be a handicap hunting and kind of negate the idea of a short fast handling close quarters gun. I think a dot sight would be more suited for a short barreled hunting rifle.

Mine's a 20 inch 357 with a pistol scope, too. It balances at my index finger when I hold it around the receiver and pinky back against the lever.

I think i will look into this some more. I saw a post with Ranch Dog and his Rossi that seem to work real nice. He has a Weaver low power scout scope mounted on his rifle.

I have a 2X pistol scope too. With older eyes, it's pretty nice and helpful. That's on a 357 Rossi.

Mine is a 16" with a 2 x trashco scope. It cut groups down considerably.

I put a Bushnell Phantom 2.5x on my win 92 in 25/20. It cut the group size quite a bit with my old eyes. The bushnell no drill mount is a little cheesey but it seems to work ok.
