The other night a truck driver delivered to the bakery and he said "hey, you reload don't you?" I admitted I did and he said, "I got a buncha "stuff" in the truck...be right back." Now anytime anyone tells me I"I got a buncha stuff." I usually just shrug it off. Folks idea of a "bunch" is usually different than mine. Had a guy tell me he had a bunch'a lead. Turned out to be a sock half full. A small sock. Anyways...he did have a bunch'a stuff! Two boxes of stuff! I now got 2 boxes of...stuff. Mainly molds....and some ***** ones at that. What would one use a 6 cav. TL314-85-wc for? Anyways, I'm off topic. One of the molds is a Lee 90359 which is a wide flat nose .452/315gr. gascheck boolit. I'll no doubt be grinding the check shank out'a that thing but cast some up tonight just to try it before I break out the Dremel. They're sitting there Reclused and I'm having a dickens of a time finding much load data for them. I know some of you guys shoot the heavies and I'm gonna run this in a Ruger Blackhawk so I just need some ideas. I'd like to stay with the powders I have on hand. Unique/Trailboss/2400/Universal/Bullseye. I did a search...not much info and nothing on these powder choices. There is some data for jacketed 300gr. bullets but mostly Ruger Only Loads. Not looking to shoot elephants here. It just looks like an interesting design so figgered I'd try it. Anyways, many thanks in advance. Audie....the curious Oldfart..

One could use the 314-85 bullet for feeding the Mosin-Nagant rifles for short range paper perforation duty . Of course it goes withoutsaying that small critters with that load can be terminated as well .

The .314-85 is for handgun use, .32 S&W or .32 H&R mag. Like Jack said, would be handy for various fat .30's...Ray

Audie the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook #4 has loadings for a 300 grain Saeco #454 boolit. Using Trail Boss and Unique

Trail Boss start 3.8 Gr., 538 f.p.s. 9300 PSI Max 4.8 gr., 668 f.p.s. 13,900 P.S.I.
Unique start 4.8 gr., 628 f.p.s. 11,200 P.S.I. Max. 6.1 gr., 764 f.p.s. 13,600 P.S.I.

Adjust accordingly with your slightly heavier boolit.

That 314 wc is all I use in my Walther GSP 32 S&W Long. That mold was discontinued a long time ago. I have a couple of 2 cav, but have had my eyes open for a 6. That boolit seems to shoot much better than the RCBS wc, at least in my 2 guns.

Fellers thanks for all the responses to this. Glad I asked as the only printed load data I found suggested a starting load of 6gr. of Unique (One Book/One Caliber) which seems to be considerable more than the advice here. Also, didn't know the mold would work in the Tok's. Hmmm? Not sure what I'm doing with the remaining molds but I have had a member contact me concerning it so will give him first dibs if I sell. (which wasn't the intent of the post but thanks to all) Audie...the Oldfart..

What would one use a 6 cav. TL314-85-wc for? 1895 Nagant revolver, I'll trade you a 2 cav for that 6 cav:)
