The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen , Norway

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far as 81 degrees 29 minutes north latitude.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

Second how do we know what we see is a bad thing? Yes the oceans will rise but is that a really bad thing since idiots have built in flood planes and knew it was a flood plane who is really the problem?
Third if we are really seeing global warming then what is the really best thing to do? adapt? Wet our pants? Go cry why me? There is an issue of National Geographic from 1978 that has a 2 page photo inside the back cover of the continental U.S. and Alaska with every state having snow on it. The caption read that scientists were discussing global cooling.

The ones who are really in a pickle over this are the chains of islands in the South Pacific who are watching their homes disappear into the ocean, inch by inch, year by year.

Yes, it is happening. Yes, it is cyclical. Yes, Al Gore is trying and for the most part succeeding in bending the western world over.

Of course "global warming" is a myth. The head of the Sierra Club admitted that in in 2005 in a broadcast interview. That is why it is now called "climate change" by the Gorebot priesthood. Since 1999 we have been in a gradual cooling period that has lead to species of subarctic plankton and sub arctic salmon to expand their range 200 miles farther south in the Pacific Northwest. That is long term, not short term. Real experts have concluded that the cooling trend will last at least 8 more years from events in the Antarctic (yes, Antarctic). Sometime soon the press may be allowed by the Gorebots to notice that certain glaciers are growing again.

Well fact is who cares if it is man made or natural fact is the climate is changing period and world wide. Polar caps melting meaning hotter summers, and colder winters due to absorbing more heat from the sun. Worse storms, drought, fires etc. pretty much on the way. Now if you don't except that as fact then you was born just yesterday or or totally blind to your local weather which though not climate it gives you a good clue if you watch. Either way get prepared as the coming years will get harder before they get better and that is a fact. At a guess this planet has spun around for about 4 BILLION years. There have been some recovered evidence of climate dating back about 4 THOUSAND years. We have been keeping SOME SORT OF RECORDS for about 200 years.

How accurate are the records? In Chicago they recorded the temperature from Midway airport for about 50 years. That is in the middle of Chicago.

Recently they shifted to O HARE Field. Lots of wide open spaces there.

In the same vain, before you could scrap an old refrigerator or air conditioner you had to pay someone to recover the freon unless the pump was missing. I wonder how much freon was dumped into the atmosphere by folks cutting out the pump.
I found this out when I tried to dump an old fridge and the guy asked about the pump. They wouldn't take it. No problem the next day when the pump was gone though.

Just today there was a long article in the local paper on global warming. Paragraph after paragraph of devastation and we should now expect Katrina type hurricanes every two years, rising oceans and we are all doomed.

At the end of the article was one short paragraph saying that the report was based on both very flawed and incomplete data.

Legitimate science says that earth's climate has been in continuous change since the very beginning, it's never been steady.

The eco whacko cool aid drinking crowd had global cooling in the 70's and we are all doomed, when they could come up with no proof of that they decided it must be global warming and we are all doomed. With zero proof of that they smartened up and decided it must be climate change and we are all doomed. They are partly right, the global climate is changing, always has been, always will be even if there were no people just as it did before there were people.

Global warming or whatever they call it this year is nothing more than the exact same thing as gun control. It is all about controlling the people with more devastating regulations, fines & the rest of the BS. Great falls was a giant lake back then. When the big ice age came after the extinction event the glaciers carved this area up pretty good. The truth about the volcanoes is that in one day more of the exact same greenhouse gasses blamed for global cooling/warming/change are spewed out than humans have in their history.

If you google I 80 and route 1 Homewood Il you can see the worlds largest limestone quarry. Almost every piece of stone coming out of there has some sort of prehistoric fossil in it.

This limestone ridge is PART of a prehistoric CORAL REEF that, I have been told extends into NORTHERN CANADA.

In reading many articles and talking with REAL geologists I have been told they have PROOF in rock that the state of Minnesota was at one time part of a hugh mountain range and even a desert.

Now tell me what climate changes took place when either GONWANDA OR PANGEA (SP) formed and later broke apart.

Carlsbad Caverns and all of the caves in that part of the world are formed in the limestone that was coral reefs in the Permian Sea which is now known as the Permian Basin. It's a semi-arid desert. A walk on the sand hills will likely lead you to finding seashells lying on the surface- no digging required. Climate change happens; I'm just not convinced that man causes it.

A few years ago there was an article AND photos of some of the original colony in GREENLAND. There were extensive stone walls and remains of vast vinyards.

If it was warm enough to cultivate grapes there the climate had to be much warmer.

IIRC there was at least one photo of some of the original grape vine stock. The stumps were larger than the ones in my back yard. I have lived here for 40 years and they were OLD when I moved in.

Clearly Eric the Red and his folks made it to Newfoundland and lived there for decades
when the climate was a lot warmer than today. Since your SUV or freon are
unlikely to have affected the weather 1000 years ago, they need to make this
