Wanna make me smile like Gump? Big unrestrained lopey engines doesn't matter if their wide open or cookout idling. Doesn't matter if its 4350 Pratt or 400 Bowtie that woof thrrup woof thrrup woof thrrup just does me in.

A calm day at the lake, geese flying overhead and I just tied into a big honkin bass on a lure that has been sitting in my tackle box for years.

Knowing my wife is happy, My brother telling me his wife is getting better, Not having to worry about food money, making sure my pups are well looked after.
To sit alone under a tree in the shade on a warm summer day, thinking how good the yesterdays were and how I can make tomorrow better than today, Six that I can cover with a nickle at 25, looking into my dogs eyes, Thinking how nice it would be to have a drink or a coffee with some of the great folks on cast bullets, Knowing I had a little more lead to cast.
I don't think I'm greedy for wanting a few little things. I fought for everything I've had and many times so others could have.
To Re-group in heaven some day with all my friends.

Boolits dropping freely from the mould, and coming to rest with their brethren on a clean towel. Works for me every time!

All the other stuff posted works great too. Puppies, fish on the line, boat motor starting on the first pull after a long winter.

28 years ago when my wife was 36 she had a stroke, partialy parralized on the right side and could not speak and she wasn't sure who I was. Didn't know who she was. Fortunately we got to the hospital in time and she recovered completely. Since then every breath she takes makes me smile. Every time I come home and see here face, makes me smile. Every morning I wake and she is still there beside me, makes me smile.

Full tummy, dry feet, warm ****, comfy chair, reading a book, revolver on the side table. That may not sound like much to some, but it always makes me smile to enjoy the fruits of my labor in a free country.

My pup coming in for a visit, the feel of him curled on the covers of the bed. Loaded ammo ready to go. Progress being made on any of the things that need it. The first produce from the garden. Sometimes the gf clutching her stuffed monkey.

x101airborn, charlietwotracks, geargnasher, and ozarklongshot have excellent comments, all of which give a deep satisfaction to me. Greywolf got me; were on the same page brother!
Now, to these comments I would like to add a few of my own:
Meeting members here, and shooting or working on guns in the process is a pleasure indeed!
Discovering a way of thinking that answers several of your deepest burning questions, and some you never thought of. Gold my friends, pure gold.
Helping a young man who is not "dead in the eyes" to learn to work with his hands. ie mentoring. Great part of life.
A good cigar on a rainy day.
A hot cup of coffee on a cold day at deer camp.
A hot shower after a 3-7 day hunt without one.

The thought of taking a nephew out for his first hunt ever, spring turkey next month.

Like Gear, it is the simple things in life that make me happy.

Wrote this once but it disappeared, let's try again.
I got home last night to find the rifled barrel for my 870 waiting inside the back door. A few minutes later UPS delivered my Cabela's order. Smiled twice-maybe even grinned.

Coming home after a long day and finding my 3 y.o. b&w Brittany Spaniel waiting for me at the back door always make me smile and feel better.

Getting one-ragged hole at the range also makes me smile but it doesn´t happen quite often.

The thought of our two grandkids, one soon to be 15 and one soon to be nine. A wonderful wife that has been my companion for almost 46 years. The smell of frest brewed coffee in the morning. A used boolit mold that when seen for the first time was even nicer than you thought it would be. The list could go on since I am so blessed.

Being greeted by my wife's big smile when I get home from a trip. Pictures of my great Grandson on my Grandaughter's face book page! Or, better yet, seeing his smile when I go to visit a couple of times a year. Pretty much what Grey Wolf said.

Funny this thread is a yr old ,there must not be a lot that makes folks smile or maybe we just don't pay attention to the little things.

I spent 169 days layed off, ran out of UI Money ,had 2 of 3 trucks down ,cant find the parts for either 1 and there's by passing these parts. I was recalled to work but I don't see it lasting much more than another week 3 outside.

There was this Biblical sunrise this morning, My lead count is down from 10.1 to 6.8, the rest of the labs say I'll live to see 50, I'm still 20/30 and 18/20 its golden kids.

A motion that doesn't hurt. Seeing my Grand Kids daily. Waking after a good nights sleep. The first hint of fresh brewed coffee. Sunrise. And this morning the memories of Robin Williams. May he finally be rid of the demons.
