I have searched and cant seem to find an answer to my question. Perhaps my Searchfu is weak. Anyway, I'm trying to decide between Noe and Mihec for a mold for the 5.56. I know they are both great molds, but I can't decide on a weight and profile. The only negative I have seen is about the Noe 55grain and that is that at proper seating depth, the top lube groove is exposed. I realize that folks say it works fine, but it bothers my Boolit OCD. .224, 1/9, 16 in barrel. Your opinions would be appreciated.

I've got a 62gr 221 clone by NOE I use in my sons 5.56 upper, its 16" 1/9 and it shoots well.

My AR didn't like the Saeco 62gr RN but shoots the RCBS 22-055 real well.

they have this mold called the nato mold 45 2.1 designed it.
it is based on the nato chambers throat shape.
if I were looking for a mold for my 5.56 chambered ar rifle i'd look at one that was designed for a nato 5.56 throat ar rifle.
i'm kinda weird like that.
but I have the rcbs 055-sp now,[still] so I will continue shooting it and not trimming my brass back .0015 too short.

I currently own a LEE 55gr BATOR mold and I have to seat it pretty deep for that boolit to feed and fire in my AR. I'm in the group buy for the 77gr Group Buy to see how it works in my 1/7 and 1/9 twist ARs.

I also own a 22-250 that I plan to try both molds with once I have some free time on the experiment calendar.

Bruce, please keep us posted as to how that 77gr shoots in the 1/7 barrel. How cool it would be to leg out on my Dist. Rifleman badge using bullets I cast myself.

I'm in on the 75gr NATO group buy and I think that will be a good boolit for my AR. I have a NATO chamber and 1-7 twist. Should be able to load them a little warm due to the weight. Looking forward to getting it. Don't know how the bullet would work in a 1-9 twist barrel but I suspect there is a good chance it would work well.
