Trying to get an idea of what folks pay for range fees / club memberships across the country.
Our club is a steal at $48.00/year. What does everyone else pay for a yearly membership?

Multiple choices are allowed as some may belong to more than one club,
and if your amount is over $300.00/year, how much do you pay?

$100 initial fee and $75 a year after that. Indoor pistol range. It might make a difference if an indoor or outdoor pistol or rifle range. We also are required to have a valid NRA membership.

$50 dues
$20 for Waterfowl hunting
$30 for upland hunting

So I spend $100
But I have acess to a 200 yd outdoor range
25 and 50 yd indoor pistol ranges
400 acres of privit marsh for Duck/ Goose hunting
600 acres of privit upland cover , that we plant to switch grass and food plots
And we have 4 Pheasant and 3 Quail releases a year

So I figure the cost is worth it

$100 initiation fee, then $85/year, $10 more if you are not NRA. Indoor range plus outdoor range(pistol, rifle to 500yds), trap/skeet/sporting clays,

You don't pay dues by end of month they are due, you start all over again

The "Birchwood Recreation and Shooting Park", ("BRSP"), range complex, here in Anchorage, Alaska, is relatively expensive, but it is a multi-discipline private range on approx 75 acres. Rifle and pistol ranges lettered A-H, ranging from 25 to 300 yd. , 8 trap and skeet fields, three "5 stands", and a sporting clays walk through. The best membership is the "Exclusive Park Member" or "EPM"-- That gets you a gate card that allows you access 7 days a week from 7am-10pm.

You can drive your vehicle right up to each covered shooting position or shotgun field, and park it. It allows use of all, including automatic weapons , with essentially no ammo restrictions. (Exception: you can only shoot tracers on the 300 yd range when there's snow on the ground).

Several of the R/P ranges have stadium lighting for night use. The "EPM" is $175 annual, $125 for 62 and older or active duty military. (these are family memberships- However, the Card holder must be there with any family member that shoots.

THere is a state owned range about 35 miles away on the other side of Anchorage. However.. they have too many restrictions for my taste. No Automatic weapons, or tracer ammo, only open from 10 AM to 5 pm, 5 days a week, and maximum range is 100yds. THey will not allow you to load more than ten rounds into a magazine!!! Plus-- if you use a shotgun for any thing except slugs, I.E. Skeet or Trap, only steel shot is allowed. You can't drive your vehicle up to the actual range for unloading/loading of guns and equipment. You have to drag your equipment from the Parking lot to the range (as much as 300 yards) I believe an annual membership there is under $75. It's $15 bucks per shooter per day otherwise.

the range closest to me dos not offer a membership. $16/day.

there is a better range a bit further, with a membership option, but until I get the small car running, can not afford the gasoline to get to it.

I have my own range on my property, but I also belong to two ranges; one close to home and one close to where Zack lives (11 y.o. I mentor).
I like to occasionally go to a range to meet other local shooters and enjoy a little company while I shoot, but load work-up and on "too lazy to pack everything up days" I shoot right at home.

The range close to me charges $20.00 and the other one $12.00 for family membership.

When I used to live in NJ I paid a $200.00 initiation fee plus $125.00 a year, yet another reason to move out of that state.

Club dues, $78 a year, but the club makes money running very popular pistol matches. With the ammo famine, I'm worrying that the cash flow from matches will be off, so dues will have to increase.

Ours is $75.00 initiation, $75.00/year as well as membership in NRA. Senior (over 65) is $65.00 initiation, $65.00/year. 600 m range w/10 shooting points, 100 yd range w/30 shooting points, 25 with benches, 200 yd w/ 4 shooting points with benches, 50 yd pistol that will allow about 30 people to shoot simultaneously, 200 yd small bore range that about 15 can use. A 50 yd tactical/cowboy range and a trap/shotgun range with a small covered prep area and a bunker type throwing machine position. Most is under cover, yet outdoors. The club just completed a 50X30 multi use building for meetings, training, and air rifle shooting. The club has been in existence for about 60-70 years.

Nice thing about PA is the amount of clubs. Bad thing is that you have to pay membership fees and there isn't a one size fits all club. They all specialize in a few areas.

I'm a member at three and all are within fifteen minutes.

Main club - requires NRA Membership. $50 per year for a family. Trap / Pistol out to 25 / Short rifle out to 50 / Rifle out to 150 but it's uphill. Rifle is in a block house. They put up canopies over the other two during the warmer months. Also have an indoor pistol range but there is absolutely no ventilation so I don't use it. They're building another 25 yard pistol range now. Open every day until dusk except during deer rifle season.

Closest range - $20 per year, individual. No dedicated pistol range. Short range is 25/50 yards. Rifle range is out to 300 yards. All stations are covered. Have dedicated archery range. Targets at 10 yard intervals out to 50. Have a tower on the archery range at 30 feet to practice from an elevated position. Have a 3D course that's run from late spring up until the late November. They also still have a live turkey shoot in the fall. Not sure how much longer this will last with the amount of protestors growing each year. Open every day until sunset except during deer rifle season. Archery is 24 hours and they have lights.

3rd range - $20 per year, individual. Basically a shotgun club. Two skeet ranges with towers. Another three trap ranges. They have s rifle range out to 100 but no one can be on the other ranges to use it. They run sporting clays every weekend. Hours are limited to a few daylight hours on Tuesday. Skeet under the lights on Thursday. And then sporting clays on the weekend.

There is a dedicated trap club ten minutes from my house. I don't go there because if your shotgun didn't cost ten thousand then you're below them. It's really that bad and why their membership is drastically declining as members are passing away. There are two more archery clubs within fifteen minutes that I shoot courses at when they run them. If I went out to thirty minutes from my house I could add another ten clubs to the list. There are plenty of clubs in PA :)

Last club I was a member of was $15 a year for family membership but I voted that I'd pay up to $200 a year for the right club.

$25/year for membership but they also hold a lot of supplementary raffles throughout the year. It's not hard to be into them for $200 if you participate in the raffles.

This for a 50 to 400 yard rifle range with 8 benches
25 yard pistol range
Indoor pistol/22 range
Archery and trap ranges

About a 15 minute drive from home. The club has something on the order of 350 members

The club doesn't try to restrict non-members from using the ranges. There is a donation box at the firing line.

There is no end to the number of places to shoot around here for free (Fed, state or commercial timberland ownerships). I think the membership and the raffles are worth it for the facilities and the events.

My club gets 95.00/year. Pistol range is 7 yards, 25 yards and 50. Only drawback - rifle range is maxed out at 100 yds. We can shoot indoor rimfire pistol weekly for 2 bux. Includes 10 targets.
Nice for practice and trigger time during the winter months. All in all, I like the club. Mike

Here in Arequipa, Peru there is a Club de Tiro (shooting club) that costs about $100 a year now. But they have no facilities. The club had (and may still) access to a nearby military base. The benefit was to get to use real FAL's and buy milsur ammo at 10 cents a round. No auto fire was permitted except unique conditions :) that were not impossible to arrange. I no longer am a member. Sunday's only started some years ago and that was not for me.
Now I have my own little place up the mountain where only a few goats are found. 100 yards if I move up a rise. Get to recycle my own plomo.
In Danville, ILL I am a long time member with Danville Rifle Pistol Club since around 84. The yearly is $100. I get to be on "leave of absence" while down here so thus do not loose my membership and have to be inducted on return which costs double. But the range has covered pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting. Rifle (handgun acessable) to 300 yards. Regular Handgun range is 50 yards but again you just have to move 100 feet to acess up to 300 yards. I generally go each Monday morning when in town and have it all to myself.

I pay $50 per year and no range fees. It's an FOP range which means I can shoot there whenever LEOs don’t have it scheduled for qualifications. The other benefits are that it’s a cornucopia for brass and it’s only 5 minutes from my home.

2 clubs, the main one has been around since 1946. It's an old national guard range that has/had a 600 yard 5 position target erectors. The 600 is closed now, urban creep(s) bitched too loudly. Initiation is 600 bucks, with yearly dues of 150 bucks. It has a nice clubhouse/indoor range with a "drinking/BS area". Fridges with soda and beer, and snacks. 50 ft. indoor well ventilated range, outdoors, 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard covered ranges. It's a key club and the dues cover a family and wife, and kids under 18. Oh, and a running deer target only used during the annual deer sight in days.:D[smilie=2: Located outside of Appleton Wi.

Second club is all outdoors in one location, has 2 trap ranges, sporting clays and a 100, 200, 300, 500 and 600 yard firing points. The indoor range is a couple of miles from the outdoor range and is a 50 ft with 10 firing points.

They're in the process of building a bunch of outdoors ranges with shooting bays of various distances. They have IPSC and IDPA shoots all summer long, along with the SASS. This at Ripon Wi.

here it's $20.00 per year if you want to join the club.
free if you don't join and just use the covered benches.
we have out to 300 yds on the rifle range.
200 meters on the silhouette
100 meters on the 22 range [with benches and serves as the overflow on sight in day's]
and up to 50 yards on the different pistol ranges.
there is a couple of areas you can throw your own clay's.
it even has bathrooms [actual cement state park type]
you do have to R/O yourselves unless at a formal shoot.

I couldn't tell you how many times I have been there and never got the guns unpacked from the truck because an informal club meeting/repair day was in place.

$50 initiation and pass BG check, $185 annual w/access to archery, Trap and skeet, 5-stand, swimming lake, fishing lake, nature trails,Clubhouse(no alcohol here). $30 more gets keyed access to 50 meter pistol, 300 yard rifle with covers and benches. NRA required for R&P. We sponsor the county 4H shooting group. They do shoot air rifle in the Clubhouse, other shooting is all outdoors. All competitions open to the public. On 320 acres in a county becoming more populated every day.
Range Members all attend an orientation, must show card/badge on range, can bring 4 visitors at a time. Visitors can come 2 times a year - like it, join, no "piggybacking".

Me, I live on 80 acres , enough to shoot anything I have but enjoy the Ranges too. Wife and grandson can hit the lake/kiddy pool while I empty cases !

i hear it is up to 100 or 125 now but after we moved it is a 90 minute drive for me so i don't belong any more

I dropped out of the private range I belonged to. Same distance to Lead Mine conservation area range. Problem with the private club was the cowboy action shooters would shoot first weekend of the month and nobody else could shoot. So now I pay zero dollars and the free range is usually empty on weekdays and very few people on weekends.

My fees are $75.00 per year with a $25.00 initiation fee.
We have nearly zero facilities. A carport with bench and a distance of 80 yards.
I live in Southern WV where flat land is at a premium. The club is active in that we have an informal trap match and an informal action pistol match per month.
We are young and growing. Through we don't have much it beats going to the public range and encountering all the testosterone and firearms.

$40/yr.. family.. trap, 100 & 200 yd rifle, 50' and 100' pistol both covered, archery tower... good group of guys, fun events. $3.50 round of trap on trap night... No one gets killed like on the nearby public ranges. Outdoors. Really frickin' cold lately... less than 15 minute drive from my house which will probably have a private pistol berm on in this summer.. ;) still like being a member of a club...bs-ing is 3/4 of the fun...

Three covered benches for rifle. Pistal range has no covers.
Rifle range is 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 1000 yards.
I have been here since June and so far cant get anyone to take money for use of the range. It is owned by a local farmer that my son is working for.
It is about 1 mile from my house and I go there three to four times a week average. I have only seen other people there three or four times.
Not quite like the private range I had in Alaska but not too much different.

I know there are some ranges in the USA that charge $300 or more for annual membenship...... A few around Los Angeles, and Las Vegas , and indoor ranges in many locations...

THis is an intruiging thread, as I sit on the Board of the "BRSP" range in Anchorage, AK area. It will be helpful when comparing rates against other like facilities. We are fast approaching 4,000 members.....

I currently belong to just one gun club here in SE Pa.
The cost is $100 initiation fee and $20/year dues. My son just transitioned from a junior member (below 18) to an adult membership...the initiation fee is waived.
We have a clay bird range with two throwers, a three-station covered pistol range with target stands at 7,15 and 25 yards and a 300-yd rifle range (intermediate target stands and berms at 25,50 and 100 yards) with 6 covered and one uncovered benches.

I do all my long-range handgun shooting on the rifle range. Funny story about that...

Many years ago, before we built the pistol range all handgun shooting was from the rifle benches(the uncovered one only) and restricted to the 25yd target frame.
I had recently acquired a S&W 686 Silhouette Model .357Mag w/8-3/8" barrel and decided that I needed to see what it was capable of at longer range.
So I tacked up a target at 100yds at proceeded to shoot a couple of cylinders of rounds at it.
Some older guy came over and gave me his ration of excrement about shooting handguns on the rifle range and made it quite clear that he didn't care much for handgun shooters in general and, apparently, me in particular. His basic point was that handguns were no good for shooting at any appreciable distance and he was of the opinion that they shouldn't even be allowed on the range.

I had just finished making a few adjustments to the front sight and my groups had tightened up very nicely. I was feeling pretty confident at the time and was getting a little irritated by my new-found "friends" attitude, so I began firing at the 200-yd rifle gong to see where my handloads might impact.
The first shot was right on line but a bit short of the gong...I moved the front sight to position 4 and hit just to one side of the gong and then hit it 3 out of the next 4 shots.

My new "friend" walked away, stopped to talk to a couple of other shooters for a couple of minutes and never spoke to me again.

There is also a hi-power rifle range. I think it is 100-yard...I don't compete in that game.
Our multi-position 25-yd indoor range has been restricted to .22rimfire rifles only for many years.

No full-automatic weapons permitted. We have key card access to the grounds and building from dawn to dusk, plus meetings.

In Missoula dues were $60 for a voting member 1/2 for non voting. 1/2 dues were forgiven voting members if you attended a work day [2 per year].
Here it is free at the sportsman club range. Club dues are $10 year, not requires to shoot. 2 benches 50, 100, 200, 300 & 400 yard targets. No covers and a rough road in. If I want to shoot pistold I bring my own target stands. I rarely see anyone else there Nov-Aug.

#1 Cost $40 with NRA required, all shooting outdoors, Main range out to 428. Eight bays 100 meters and shorter.
Some fireing lines have nice wide covers, some are uncovered. Three skeet fields, 6 trap fields, one five stand.
Three modern club houses all with class rooms, kitchens, and female approved rest rooms. Two have full time accessable flush toilets. One has showers. Eight RV parking spaces with eletrical.
We can hold three diffrent shooting events at the same time and still have a bit of room for members to do their own thing. Pushing 3,000 members.
Range #2 $40. One club house mostly locked up except when shooting trap, One tiny pistol bay, covered rifle range with fireing line very cramped, makes it difficult to shoot prone untill you get yourself wrapped around some bench legs.
Silhouette range built by and for BPCR guys, no modern rifles on their steel.
Out house for people who shoot guns fireing a single projectile.
Trap range, is unbelivably, down rang from rifle range, actually up the hill a bit, never could figure out why, untill I saw the veiw.
Range board under tight control of elitist trap shooters.
Small membership the best reason to join.

The club also raises Pheasants to release. Pretty good deal I think? There is talk about raising it to 100 next year?? we shall see?

The range with a 500 yard target is $25 a year but an hour + from home. Many different ranges there. Camp Atterbury is 30 minutes but a pay as you go, $7 @ hour I think. Haven't shot there in years due to an idiot. Things have changed there as a beautiful new range was built. Concrete side walls and overhead baffles, 50 or more stations, small retail shop etc..

I pay $150 a year to belong to a club in a densely populated suburban area. Initiation is $150 the first time, and NRA membership is mandatory.

There's a 100 yard outdoor range for .22lr rifles, and a 50 yard outdoor pistol range, only non-magnum pistols allowed.

There's also an indoor airgun range, and I can set my archery target up.

The clubhouse is nice, with a flatscreen TV and a pool table.

There's a match of some sort every week, so most months there's a "fun pistol" match, a "fun rifle" match, a smallbore metallic silhouette match, a PPC style match, plus the benchrest and prone matches.

The membership is about the best group of people you could want to deal with, it's kinda like here. I swear, most of the old guys just show up to hang out and BS with people, and probably don't bring anything besides the piece they're carrying.

Thankfully it costs me nothing as I have a range in my backyard .depending on the time of year,I can shoot out to 300 yards.Of course if my cousin has corn planted I can only do about 100 yards.Seems that all the guys who I am on the fire dept with all come over here to shoot. we have some fun times and I get all the fired brass. There is a range about 2 miles from the house ,I understand the dues run about $120 a year .They have covered shooting positions and both rifle ,pistol and shotgun ranges .Many of their members are military as Seymour Johnson air force base is here in town even though the base has a range .Going off base is less hassle so I am told All in all not a bad deal at all.

When I left the PD I had to turn in my range key. :p I generally shoot at a public/fee use range that charges $14/person/day. Been shooting there for close to 30 yrs and they quit charging me range fees 15-20 yrs ago. Works out fine; they often need extra help on CHL days, sighting in rifles and getting the deer hunters sighted in. Always happy to help, quite often don't bring anything to shoot anyway. 40 miles away so trying to buy a membership at a range near the house.
Private range is owned by the members, share sometimes sells for as much as $2K. Maint fee of about $200/year. Very nice trap & skeet facility, price built around shotgun shooters. Decent rifle and pistol ranges, last I heard.

I pay $50/year for membership in our local rifle and pistol club - fully enclosed metal building (heated, more than adequately ventilated and well lit) - for the indoor 25 yard 12 lane pistol (all calibers) + rimfire rifle range plus $1 for each use of the range, regardless of the duration of your shooting session. This indoor range is open 24/7 except for times reserved for specific events and shooting discipline groups such as Bullseye practice, IDPA, etc., and for LE practice with entry via coded lock. I also pay $25/year for an annual pass to an outdoor shooting complex which includes ranges for archery and shotgun as well as seven different rifle and pistol ranges, most with covered shooting positions and with two extending out to 200 yards. Joining one of the specialized disciplines such as High Power or Full Bore (within the rifle and pistol club) will allow you access to the 600yard range on certain reserved days. There are also several reserved outdoor ranges associated with this complex that are used almost exclusively for organized competition such as Steel Challenge, IDPA and Cowboy Action shooting. This outdoor range complex is open from 8:00AM until 1/2 hour before sunset and a Range Officer is always on duty during this time. All in all, well worth it, IMHO.

$65/year and pay to play. Membership not required, but use fees are about double for non-members. Most of the time I shoot at home, only go to the local club range to use their longer ranges or for trap/skeet/sporting clays/5-stand, they are an Olympic training site. Oh, and I scrounge brass there since there is virtually no public shooting land in Texas to scrounge components. The scrounging usually makes up for the range use fee in spades, especially with the member discount.
