I have a Lyman 311291EX mold. What is the EX for? I would think that it would mean it would drop them a little on the fat size (EX for extra or something) but they mic right at 311-312 depending on alloy and temp. What gives?

Either way it produces very nice bullets. :-D

jonk:

The two-capital-letter suffix following the mould number is a "code" indicating the cherry used to cut the cavity. In your case, it was the fifth (A, B, C, D, E,...) cherry made for Lyman by an outside vendor "X" (I don't have the names for the outside vendors; that is proprietary info). Mould #311291 is a very popular one, so they go through lots of cherries.
