Fish4bugs--With the northwest wind I have here today you will be getting some of this snow shortly. Just finished pushing a 4' drift that was blocking my driveway. get ready. HaHa!

ONLY a 4' drift? We are top of a ridge and when the wind comes from the northeast, it crosses a 200 acre hay field next door and picks up every flake of snow and deposits it on the east side of our house and barn. We have had many a 4' drift there. Thank goodness for snow blowers!

a short video shot earlier....not really a bad storm but a foot just makes it all crappy.

Six"+ here in Milton, started out very dry, fine crystals then got wet and heavy as it warmed up this afternoon. No big deal this late in the season, it will be gone in a few days.

Global warming. It gets cold when it gets warm or something like that. Anyway, it's our fault no matter what it does.

I love the weather reports from around the world.

we just had some north winds and patchy snow storms, we have another one coming in a couple of day's.
I hope we don't get a bunch of warm day's in a row or we are gonna have more water all at once than we can handle.
of course that might break the ice up on the reservoirs.

Our hummingbirds arrived yesterday so had to put the feeder out. Snow is predicted for tomorrow night though for the first day of spring.

1st day of spring?

No, tomorrow is! So the weather has to change real fast. E. central WI just got over a day of gentle snow, now the wind is piling it up real fast.

Oh well, I'm starting my garden seeds on the kitchen table, about half way done. Makes me feel a bit better, cabin fever is getting to me!:D

Old Farmers Almanac says March 25 is the day to start inside planting, so I plan to do so.

3* here this morning, and with a 15 mph wind, it feels down right cold out there. I put wood in the boiler so very toasty in here.

We're having lows close to zero and highs in the teens or low 20s. With cold north winds too. I'm still plowing snow from storms. Still riding snowmobiles like it was Febuary.

This time last year we were in the 70s !? Sounds like next week is going to be in the 30s or maybe even the 40s.

That depends on when you can get them in the ground. From what I've been told, and my experience, 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting for tomatoes, and 8 to 10 weeks for peppers. Normal/average last frost date here in central Wisconsin is May 10th.

My 5 Gal pails are getting thawed out, ready to plant the seeds directly into them. They can go out early, then be brought inside if it freezes. Seeds planted in them should be better than having to disrupt roots when transplanting.

Well I guess I've just about had it with the Snow, We got a fresh foot of it overnight.
I have taken my pot out and my few pounds of lead that I have at least 10 times, looked at it and said %$#@#$^%%$# and put it away. Julie said I am going to wear it out and the little pile of lead is going to evaporate if I keep playing with it.
I keep telling her I'm not playing, I'm prepping. Once more she reminds me about how I need supervision. Don't get me wrong, I love Maine, but 5.5 months of snow on the ground gets a little old.

Well, I'm complaining too. I'm into my last cord of firewood, and no letup in sight.

But the buzzards are back, so it can't be too long now . . . . . .

Well its 70 degrees here on the 1st day of Spring! But its supposed to get cold again by the end of the week.........Sunday's high should be in the mid 50's! Blut have no fear, we'll pay for it in July, Aug, and Sept. with 100+ days!
