I'd love to be able to slug my guns with soft lead sinkers, as many on this Board recommend. Can't do it though, as all the sinkers on the store shelves in NH are made of steel. Lead sinkers under a certain size were banned in the hopes of restoring the loon population (no, apparently we don't have enough loons in NH). I expect it's only a matter of time before the tree huggers find a reason to ban lead shot and boolits.

It just fizzled in California. No lead ban as of now:

This letter was posted recently at the Fish and Game site, where they have apparently deferred to the Legislature and AB821

TITLE 14. Fish and Game Commission

They'll plug that loophole. Use of lead bullets will be banned, not just sale. Compliance is a separate issue altogether.

If I was to recollect real hard, I don't think there have been but but a handful of deer that I have killed where the bullet stayed in the animal to end up in a gut pile anyway. Most of the time the bullet zips on through.

And how often does a bullet actually stay in a gut to end up in a gut pile?

Bullets I have had stay in a game animal are usually in the muscle tissue.

And this ends up being transported home as meat. Then the bullet gets remove during processing.

Lead kills clean. Substitutions do not carry as much shock.

Come on guys, it's not about hunting with lead bullets it's about guns and freedoms, and it always has been! Just Bury the Gutpile!

Condors are nothing but stupid buzzards, I have learned to only obey laws I like, just like our government taught us.

"Do the ends justify the means?" is a question never considered by local, state and federal gov'ts.

The good news is that we need never consider China as a threat. we know now that they will all be retarded as will their children because of elevated lead levels in their blood. It could not be that all our "experts" had another agenda could it? Gianni.

The U.S. became the leading techonoligical country on people who grew up with lead based paint, leaded gasoline and cast lead soldiers, just think what we could have done if we hadn't been poisoned by lead!
