View Full Version : Outdoor Channel ready to lead blacklist against Colorado

Is Colorado becoming the new California where the moonbats and fruits and maggots are outnumbering the honest, decent hard-working freedom-loving people?

Boulder has always been a cesspool and I wished that someone had nuked Mork when he landed there. Would've gotten rid of Robin Williams at the same time.

We've seen some companies pack up, but something tells me, according to this story, that Colorado may not have seen anything yet.

Outdoor Channel ready to blacklist Colorado and lead mass exodus out of state to neighboring gun-friendly states. (http://godfatherpolitics.com/9838/outdoor-channel-blacklists-colorado-over-gun-control-laws/)

Interesting article.

magpul is more than welcome here to southern idaho.
that would complement the few different small AR making businesses we allready have.
and CCI primers,and ammo.
i think we have just enough gun business here we could compete against most small country's.
if freedom arms would move about 300 yd's west they would be in idaho too.

Unfortunatly, I am currently stuck here in Kalifornistan. And my daughter <whom I was of thinking of moving closer to soon> is in Colo. the list of places that still believe in the US Constitution seems to be growing shorter, even within our own borders.

And people are correct about the number of idiots in the state. And they DO tend to be congregated in the cities.

Is Colorado becoming the new California where the moonbats and fruits and maggots are outnumbering the honest, decent hard-working freedom-loving people?

Unfortunately, yes it is.
Most of them are congregated in the Denver Metro area which includes Boulder.
The rest are in Pueblo.
Those two metro areas voted a Dem House and Dem Senate into power the last election, along with obummer.
Add that to a libtard governor and this is the result.
The voting bloc in those two metro areas wipes out the rest of the state.
I think only 6 or 7 counties out of 64 swung that way, but they carried the day.
Sad as hell is what it is.
Here is some of the latest from the people's republic of Colorado:
This was sent to me by my state senator who is pro 2nd amendment.
Her name is Vicki Marble.

"Friends,

If you have not heard by now, Sheriff Terry Maketa of El Paso County went public with some shocking news on KVOR’s Jeff Crank show. In a move reminiscent of Chicago-style mob politics, Sheriff Maketa alleged that Democratic senate leadership threatened sheriffs with holding up or stopping legislation that affects sheriff’s pay unless they change their collective position on gun control. Senate leadership is President Sen. John Morse and Majority Leader Sen. Morgan Carroll. Details of the interview are well documented here (http://spotlightoncorruption.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/shock-interview-co-sheriff-alleges-extortion-by-co-dem-leadership-over-the-gun-bills/) along with a link to the podcast of the radio interview."

Isn't that just peachy?
Makes me so mad I can hardly see straight...

Sad sad sad....when theres states with beautiful country in it, and you're oppressed.
I can understand the "I dont want to have to carry a gun, to go for a walk down the street". I shouldn't have to arm myself to take a walk, without fear of being mugged, beaten, shot, raped, ect ect.
Someday they'll hopefully figure out, you have to change the mindset of people, that hurting other humans is not right, not take away from people in the thinking concept this will make the public safer.

I remember when in 1979 that I first went over Wolf Creek Pass into Durango, Co. What a wonderful thing of beauty. If I would of had the funds, I would have been a Cajun away from home.
My second surprise was when I asked a park ranger where I could do some shooting with my revolvers. His answer was right at your campsite as long as you fire into a good back stop. My what a different state it has become.
As early as 1982 I started seeing bumper stickers with signs that said "we don't care how you do it in CA." The invasion had already started to take place. Durango, my most favorite town was quickly becoming a suburb of Ca.
The prices for homes went from 60,000 in Ouray to a whopping $600,000. They came to paradise and turned it into the very thing that they were running from. All the small quaint towns were now complete replica's of that home of people like Diane Feinstein. Sooooo Sad. Later David

I began hunting in Colorado in 1988. Went yearly for elk and mule deer. I agree with cajun shooter, Wolf Creek Pass is a beautiful sight. I have an enlarged photo of it in my den. When i decided to introduce my wife to the west we toured the state. She loved it. Banners everywhere "Welcome Hunters." Beautiful yellow leaves covering mountain sides. Quaint towns like Durango, Pagosa Springs, Silverton and even Colorado Springs. Then the leftist started taking over. I remember the hooplah that went on when they banned spring bear hunting. I thought there was no way that would pass in a "western hunting state." It has gone done hill ever since. Alas I will never see that state again or spend another dime there. i feel sorry for the decent folk that will suffer due to the leftist in the large cities.

Yep, same thing exactly in California, New York and Illinois and now CO. For everyone fond of bashing California it's not California, it's the concentration of libtards in the two population centers of LA & SF. In Illinois Chicago carries the conservative state, in New York the city carries and out votes the rest of the state.

I think we need to ban cities, period. Even here in gun friendly Texas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio. parts of Dallas, Ft. Worth are liberal. But I think the real problem with those cities is the proliferation of welfare minded people who are dependent on Uncle Sam, who are the problem along with those who exploit them for their own gain.

Being a native Colorodan, it really pains me to see my home state go this way. Pains me, but doesn't surprise me. Even when I joined the Army and left the state back in '73 it was beginning to be overrun with fleeing Californians, with all their whacky ideas. Sorry to be so lengthy with my post here but thought I'd enclose a copy of the email I just sent to The Denver Post...I'm so saddened about what is going on in Colorado...I now live in California (fro many years) and have seen the cancerous growth of the California mind set spread across the Western states...It's on the move and we need get our hands back on the wheel or we're all going to be in the mess California (and now other states) are in..my letter:

"Interesting...I'm writing to the Denver Post from San Diego. I was born in
Denver in 1937, raised there and have both parents and many relatives that were
Denver natives and now reside at Crown Hill Cemetery. I know Denver and
Colorado well.....Educated in Denver and then in Fort Collins, spent much of my
eariler work life in Denver and strangely enough have done quite a bit of
business in my working life..with the Post. I sold the Post the very first
automated microfilm records system for the library back in the 60's...a man
named Tony Fortunado (sp) was my customer contact. So I do know Denver.

I grew up hunting and fishing in Colorado. Raised my kids there and they also
learned to love the outdoors, the hunting and the fishing as did I. I'm so
saddened to see what is happening in Colorado concerning the approach to our
second Amendment rights. How dare the ultra left leaning politicians of
Colorado make decisions that threaten my Constitutional rights even as a
resident of another state. I live in California now and have always regretted
that I no longer lived in Colorado because of the political climate...until now.
Decisions being made there show me and others how politically corrupt Colorado
has become.

We have traveled to Colorado yearly to visit and see old friends and to have a
meal at El Rancho near where our old cabin was years ago...We have traveled to
Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain where we ran a resort years ago. We will not be
visiting Colorado again. I will not support an economy that is clearly pointed
to the destruction of our Constitution through it's actions concerning Second
Amendment rights. No, no more Colorado for us..we can be disappointed right
here without having to travel. Nice memories of my home but a terrible
disappointment now.

I watched a recent special on either the Discovery Channel or on National
Geographic as I recall. It talked of the marijuana laws, the government
involvement and also one thing that greatly interested me...that was the
situation of one of President Obama's main campaign supporters and fund raisers
and her husband (or friend) that are the largest or one of the largest growers
of marijuana in the area there. It pointed out that while Colorado law makes
the marijuana growing legal that Federal law still forbids it...and that most of
the growers ...with the exception of the woman tied to President Obama have been
closed down. You might think that I'm a Right Wing radical to have views on
this...you would be mistaken. I'm a voter that has always voted for the person
and not the party or a firm "ism"...my votes have been for the man or woman I
felt was best for the job. I have watched the current administration ignore the Constitution and several states (including Colorado) run roughshod over law and order to please a Socialist viewpoint.

I write this to you as your name and e mail address were posted on a web site I
visit and it urged people to boycott Colorado. It is difficult for me to do
that but in light of things the way they have developed there...I have no
choice. Again, we (none of the 6 members of the family and our extended family)
will be visiting our home again. We will treasure the memories and we will
despise the track things are taking. I will not again suggest Colorado as a
good vacation destination...it was once but no more. How sad!

Thank you for reading and listening,

Taking my own advice, I fired off a letter/e-mail to every member of the Colorado state senate. It is as follows:

During my military years (Air Force) in the late 70's and early 80's, I went to tech school at Lowry AFB. It was my first time to ever see Colorado and mountains. I fell in love with the state and have returned often, sometimes as much as three or four times a year.

That is over. Colorado's increasingly hostile attitudes towards the Bill of Rights while at the same time embracing formerly illegal drugs has this USAF veteran and retired executive now choosing to avoid your state at any and all costs.

I am not alone, I assure you. We own two small airplanes, one of which is a small hot-rod two-seater that can easily handle the altitude of the Rockies, and used to fly to Colorado Springs or Durango at the drop of a hat. No more. Every single member of our VFW and American Legion posts has written Colorado off and my fellow veterans, God Bless them, are actively spreading the word as to why Colorado is now off-limits.

You're already seeing several manufacturers preparing to pack up and leave, and you haven't seen anything yet.

Bear in mind that there are millions of us who put our lives on the line for the Constitution, Bill of Rights--which includes the Second Amendment--and freedom in general and we do not appreciate your state's relentless assault on law-abiding gun-owners while at the same time pandering to potheads.

You folks made your bed.

Good day.

I've already received a response from one of the rural Republican senators:

I would hope that there can be more done with this, Unfortunately, five of the seven gun bills have passed the senate and they are about to pass the house. The next step will be the signature of the governor. I do not know if he will sign, as in my opinion theses are not a good fit for Colorado. We will have to wait and see. Elections have consequences and this is definitely an over reach of the Democrats.
Senator Larry Crowder
Republican and Veteran

Mr. Crowder sounds like a good man. Colorado residents need to write him a letter of support while urging him and his fellow conservatives to fight like hell to save their state.

Otherwise, Colorado will very quickly join the ranks of New York, Illinois and California as states who are flat-busted broke and bankrupt as a result of their idiotic liberal law-making policies.

I also noted that the list of Senators I posted a link to also lists the senators' occupation. No huge surprise that that the overwhelming majority of the Democraps list their occupation as being in education.

Couldn't agree more. I was home schooled. Never set foot on a bus. I intend to home school my daughter too, to save her from indoctrination with whatever agenda they are pushing on the kids.
My parents took responsibility for me and my siblings, and I will take responsibility for my child as well. I want her to have a free mind. I want her to be able to have perspective.
"oh but I just can't afford that kind of lifestyle" BS!!!! My father supported a wife and seven children (all from one marriage that is still going strong) on one man's salary. My wife has MS. What's your excuse? you just gotta have that fully loaded Escalade in the driveway?
Ha! My dad always told us kids that he was in the business of raising eagles, not sheep. We are the ones that will stand up for this generation, and my daughter will stand for the next one.
I'm sure that there will be some kids that went through all the years of brain washing, that will come to their senses and fight for what the founding fathers believed in, but it's not going to be the norm.

Received this response from State Senator Ted Harvey today:

Thank you for your email. As you know, the last several weeks have been frustrating and emotionally draining for me of my fellow Colorado legislators who value liberty and the inalienable right of self-protection. The direct attack on our constitutional rights by the ruling Democrat majority in the legislature and the Governor himself has been breathtaking.

If you have been watching the debate in the Senate, the fifteen members of the Republican caucus has fought in unison, arm in arm against these tyrannical, unconstitutional measures. I have served in the legislature for twelve years and despite defeat, I can honestly say this was my party’s finest hour. Though we are out numbered 20 to 15, we were tireless in our defense of your constitutional right to self-protection. We were well prepared, we had done our research and we logically articulated our defense of liberty.

Thankfully, we were able to kill two of the Democrats’ bills. We killed the bill which would have denied citizens their legal right to carry concealed firearms on college campuses. We were also able to kill the bill, sponsored by the Senate President John Morse, which would have held every firearm manufacturer liable for crimes committed using a gun they manufactured. Because of a united Republican senate and a few courageous Democrats, those bills met their appropriate demise.

Unfortunately though, elections do have consequences and we learned all too well that elections do determine policy. Because the radical left is now in control of the Democrat leadership at all levels of Colorado, they were emboldened to push the most draconian gun restrictions ever seen in the United States.

Sadly, we were not able to stop five of the seven bills.

SB 195: Prohibits Colorado citizens from receiving online CCW training courses. This will force rural Coloradoans across the state to drive long distances in order to take a live class before they are able to exercise the inalienable right of self-protection. Obviously, liberal Denver Democrats know what’s best for the rest of Colorado.

HB13-1224: This bill would ban magazines with a capacity greater than 15 rounds or that can be readily modified to hold more than 15 rounds. This will essentially outlaw all commonly used firearms in America. There is no evidence or reason to believe that this ban on normal capacity magazines will reduce crime.

HB13-1229: This bill requires a background check on virtually all transfers of firearms…not just the sale of firearms. It would require me to order a background check on my wife if I were to leave town for more than 72 hours and I wanted to provide her with one of my guns to protect herself and our kids. This bill is totally outrageous! This universal background check requirement is unenforceable unless or until government installs a universal gun registration…perhaps that is their goal.

HB13-1228: Requires the direct and indirect costs associated with the CBI background check for firearm purchases and transfers to be paid by the person exercising his constitutionally protected fundamental right. Indirect costs are notoriously nebulous and can often be subject to interpretation.

SB13-197: This bill is being promoted as keeping guns out of the hands of serious domestic abusers, but it is something else entirely. Our courts give out Temporary Restraining Orders (TRO) like candy on Halloween. This bill sounds reasonable until you talk to our Sheriffs or an attorney who is familiar with the way TRO’s are given out.

These bills are now on the Governor’s desk. You must contact him immediately and let him know your thoughts regarding these unenforceable and unconstitutional restrictions on your right of self-protection.

Governor John W Hickenlooper,

Phone: (303) 866-2471

And finally, the battle does not end with the Governor. All elected officials are still answerable to you, the “governed.” You MUST hold them accountable in the next election.

If you are not currently dedicating your life, your fortune, and your sacred honor in defense of liberty, then NOW is time to join the battle. Getting excited after the election is over…is too late. You MUST engage in the battle during the election season...and the election season starts today!!!

The reason I was unable to kill these bills was because I am in the minority. Give me two, or maybe just one more Republican Senator and every one of these bills would be dead on arrival.

Unfortunately, in the last two election cycles we lost a total of four seats by less than 2000 votes COMBINED! You cannot imagine how heartbreaking it is to sit in the Senate Chambers and watch these bills pushed through, knowing that it could be so different.

To add salt to the wound, in two of these tight races in which our Republican candidates lost by less than 400 votes total, there was also a Libertarian candidate on the ballot who received over 4,000 votes …easily taking the winning margin away from the Republican candidate. Obviously, the loss of these two seats alone has resulted in the passage of every one of these unconstitutional infringements our 2nd Amendment rights to bear arms.

We must be smarter than Democrats. We cannot repeat the mistakes of the past.

And, we cannot do it without YOUR help. Contact the Governor today, and get involved the 2014 elections TODAY!

Sincerely,

Ted Harvey

Colorado State Senator

I'm flipping a coin as to whether or not I should wait until I'm jacked up on the dilaudid and in a nasty, foul mood to send the Governor an e-mail, or maybe wait until I'm in a calmer, more lucid state.
