My friends 1917 Enfield. Cut down military stock. I put an end piece on the forearm, recoil pad, drew the pattern by hand on the stock and checkered it. Long ago since I refinished it.
I only had 12 empties so I started at 32 gr of 4064 with the RCBS 308-165-SIL. 32, 35, 40 and 47 gr. Decent with 32 and 35 , 40 opened and 47 went crazy. 635146351363512

That's a military stock? Nice. I hope my 03A3 does as well.

Nice work Jim. What size are the plates and what distance were you?

Nice work Jim. What size are the plates and what distance were you?
They were 100 yards. The 32 gr load was 1" and 35 was 1-1/4", had two shots touching with each. Old 4X weaver with thick cross hairs and is the best I can see with it.
I ran the RCBS boolits through my lube sizer and had run out on all of them. I think the sizer made them off center. I expanded the brass with a .310" spud and they were straight to start with. I need to get a Lee size die. The lube sizer seems to damage accuracy with any boolit and caliber.
Now I have to clean the barrel and see if there is any leading.
This rifle is a joy to shoot and it will shoot any jacketed load from military to whatever and with any bullet.

I cleaned the bore and found NOTHING, even a tight Butch's bore shine patch had no lead on it.
