is it true car makers are going to have to change from lead ww to steel ww on new cars in 2008?

It has been happening slowly for awhile, especially with European makers. That may be true but I have not heard it.

It is true in Denmark and some other European countries now and the expectation is that others will follow suit. The Law in Denmark reads that when you snip the battery terminals and remove the battery from a junk car, what remains must be lead -free. This has forced them to change brake designs on some models and switch to zinc or steel WW.
