I was contacted some time ago by Floodgate and was asked if I could keep an eye out for a Super Simplex relaoding press (an australian icon) and some dies to suit as a comparison to Lyman gear that he was writing a book on. I hadn't seen one for years second hand and believe it or not found one at a gun show the next day. Floodgate wanted the 3 hole turret which was the original set up and not available for many years, so it delayed delivery, trying to find one.
Floodgate experienced some trouble getting funds sent to Australia and offered to buy goods instead. I readily agreed. The next thing I was bombarded with books, etc, stuff I wanted, but couldn't get here. He was so generous it was embarrasing. The press and turret were serviceable, but tired looking (only cosmetic), I decided to approach the manafacturer and he agreed to restore the 3 position head. When I picked up the turret, I decided that Floodgate had been so generous, he ended up getting two new presses, one with a three station turret (the only one to be shipped in over 20 years (they took a photo of it) and some new dies.
Needless to say Floodgate was pleased and insisted on sending me something to offset the shipping (which was reasonably imressive). I relented and he sent me one of Kelly Paco's Accurisers.
Floodgate was a real gentleman, patient as the day is long and generous to a point.
Thank you, Mick.
