Dear fellow casters:

Please contact Lee Precision and ask them to cut the next batch of 8MM KARABINER and 8MM MAXIMUM molds to the original Group Buy specifications - not oversized (as they typically have been).

These molds will be for sale at Midsouth Shooters Supply, and are due in mid-to-late May (according to the Midsouth website).

If enough of us contact them, just maybe they will correct the problem. Thanks.

PS: It probably wouldn't hurt to contact Midsouth Shooters Supply as well - perhaps they would have more clout with Lee than we might.

How much over size are we talking about? Personally, I'd rather the boolits be a coupla' K larger so I can size them to .325 for my Kale Mauser.

Same here, I size mine to .325 as well.

I suspect that MidSouth has voided the agreement that they made with Oldfeller and I. They may not be offering those molds any longer because of it. The original as cast diameter was 0.326"...............

I have one ...the 8mm MAX. I've cast with it once...it drops large!
using WW alloy it drops them at .326 and 245gr.

Some Mil Surps need a fat boolit !

My 8mm KAR mold drops just over .327 and weight 229 grains. This is with straight WW alloy.

Glad i got a spare when they were produced.
Should last me a lifetime.
Use the 8mm MAX in my Swedish Remington RB 8x58RD. Shoots great.

I own three Karabiners, and they all cast to different specs. None of them have the .001" step-up per band as shown by the drawing. The single cavity measures .3245" on a good day. One double cavity goes .3275". Not sure about the second, think it's the same.

I've owned 2 Maximum's, still have one, returned one for being undersized at .324". Got one of my Karabiners in return, didn't notice it for quite some time so they didn't want to do anything about it. Neither have the .001" step-up per band as shown by the drawing. The remaining one measures .323/.325/.325/.325/.324" going from front band to back. Also not to spec.

None of them feed from the magazine, and I have zero confidence that Lee will fix any problem as long as everything they make flies off of the shelves, in our current political environment.

I love my Lee C312-185-1R, not for sale at any price. I also have an undersized .323" Lyman 8mm die, which is lighter weight and neither FP or HP. So, I am still looking for a "good" 8mm mold.
