I was reading the get well wishes and prayers and was overcome.

Still in the hospital. It seems my white blood cell is way too high, so I stay on massively powerful antibiotic constantly.

I really want to go home!

Sorry for weird writing but we're using our mini tablet and it's hard to type on.

Thanks again.

Congratultions, sir. White blood count means you are still fighting the
infection, so hang in there with the antibiotics.

Get well Recluse. A burst appendix is a good way to get a nasty infection.

Maybe this is a good time to start on a new book....

I am just glad to hear you breathin! My Dads burst on him and it really almost killed him. I was scared but did not want to make anyone else (your sweet missus who informed us of your plight) worry more than they were.

Good luck with it. That bursting is real pain in the butt. Forturnatly it happened there during prep so you weren't moving around and all the nasty spreading. I hope you're not adverse to the antibiotics cause you'll probably be on them (high doses) for a while.

Glad you're still around, best wishes.

It is good to here that you made it this far. You know that you got work ahead of you now. Take it easy and then give it hell. Also get checked out real good before you go flying again Just in case.

Looks like you got the worst over though.

Glad to see you are posting some again. Hopefully you are on the road to a full recovery. I also hope you were able to get the BBQ you were after. You'd think for what they charge at those high rise "Hiltons" that a person could get about any kind of food they wanted. Hang in there its coming.

Praying as I write this. Good to hear you up and cs. Let the antibiotics do their work, don't push to hard. Frankly, I don't see where a bit of barbecue will hurt anything, but that's not an MD after my name!

Geez, I missed the first thread by your wife & had to go looking for it. That's down right terrible news but your on the mend now.

Aren't you in a Texas hospital? Isn't it illegal there to not have BBQ on the menu? BTW . . . There are much better ways to get a little bed rest than scaring everyone like that.

Recluse, glad to hear your doing better. Hang in there, it will get better. The hardest battle at times is to get over the Cabin Feaver of being couped up in the hospital. I went through the same thing back in 1979. No fun for sure. Prayers with you bud.

Don't chase the Nurses

I have it on the highest authority that chasing nurses not only speeds up recovery by 68.47%, but also nurtures hair growth and helps with skin tone.

That statistic is from military hospitals where one's better half is usually NOT present. Chasing nurses in JD's case would likely result in him becoming another sort of statistic, or at the least developing severe brain swelling.

Having just experienced the sheer agony of having an appendix rupture/burst, I can't even begin to imagine the agony of having both testicles simultaneously rupture. But I fear that would be the experience had I gone chasing nurses. . .

From what we've seen you have a really good woman there, JD. I love my nurses but they're all exes, OK? Hope she'll get rested up quickly because you need to get out of that hospital before you catch something really ugly.

JD, I am glad to hear from your own typing that you are getting better. Just remember, grinding your teeth in frustration as you wait to leave the hospital is NOT good exercise. Just close your eyes, take a deep breath, let half of it out and think of pulling the trigger to send some lead downrange instead.

Please thank Mrs. Recluse for keeping us informed.
