First off let me state I'm not interested in a debate over if lead boolits should be/can be shot in a Glock factor barrel or not.

Having ironed that out, what I am interested in is who has experience shooting either the Lee TL 401-175-SWC or Lee 401-175-TC design in their Glock 40 S&W's using the factory barrel? Other information that I would find helpful would be the COAL associated as to making the round chamber reliably etc., the boolit diameter, BHN (alloy, air cooled or water quenched) and your experience regards to accuracy.

I found a 401-175-SWC mold from a forum member here in the WTB section of the Swappin & Selling sub-forum so I'm really interested in comments regards to this design. I do plan to lube this one with my home brew Lucas white/stp lithibee mixture and hope for it to work out. My first choice low budget mold was the Lee 401-175-TC but they are harder to come by at the current time..............however I'm still looking.

Any comments appreciated.

I use the Lee 401-175-TC in my families 22, 23, and 27 Glock. I use 50-50 WW/Pb water quenched, sized with a .401 Lyman sizer, over 4.5 grains of 231 with an OAL of 1.125. I have never had a jam or misfire, and no leading. We look for lead often because of the internet stories, but good so far. Several thousand rounds have been fired.

I do! (175 TC) All the time. I've never had a problem, except with the people that tell me the gun's going to "frag" on me from shooting lead. I just keep shooting them. That's the bullet I've been shooting at GSSF matches for a couple of years.

Oh yea, I live 10 miles from the GLOCK plant so I should know better too.

My alloy is 4:1 COWW:Linotype so it's pretty hard.

Good info so far........anyone cast the TL Lee 175 grain SWC for their Glock 40's with the factory barrel. I've read a few places on the net where some say this design works and others say it's a no go on cycling/function.

I have shot 1000's of Lee 175 TL in Glock barrels some ACWW some ACWW/Linotype. My experience has been the 50/50 ACWW/Linotype will shoot fine at the higher FPS, back when the USPSA power factor was 175. The ACWW needed to stay around 800FPS. I've shot 1000's of 180 commercial cast at 1000 fps out of a G24 without any trouble.

How do you guys think these will hold up at over 1300fps?

I think if you want that speed out of this bullet you had better be using a 10mm Auto, not a .40S&W

Lee 175 TC, col 1.10", sized .401, medium hard lube, water dropped ww alloy. My USPSA load is 3.5gr of Titegroup with a WSPM primer in R-P brass, taper crimp in regular Lee TC die to .418" at the mouth. PF is about 135. I do pretty well with it in my G23 with factory bbl.

Had a G21 for many years shooting IPSC with 200gr H&G 68s over 5.0gr of Red Dot. Never a problem and no leading in the factory barrel. Sold that G21 and the new owner is still using it with pretty much the same ammo and now she's beating me most of the time.

My lone wolf barrel seems to not like cast boolits? 10mm 6" barrel sized to 401 and won't go into full battery

Mine didnt like the TC but shoots the 145 & 175 very well.

I powder coat mine. I dont shoot many in a 10mm but most in a 40 22 & 35.

249529I don't shoot a Glock but here is that boolit PC'd and ready for my sons Colt Delta Elite. His gun shoots it better than any jacketed stuff he has tried and It is cast 1-20 using range lead. I am pretty sure the powder coating allows us to get by with this relatively soft version without any feeding problems. His Colt is right out of the box with no polishing of the ramp and we size to.401. It likes Accurate #5

Another pic of the 401-175-TC. It is the powder coated. There are also an assortment of cast 10/40 bullets from Accurate, LBT, NOE, and Lyman that are, or were, in my quiver. All do fine in the Glocks.
