At one time being in the same boat as JD the good thing is that it didn't burst then you have real problems. Yes he is going to be one hurting puppy when he's done and if they still do the surgery the way it was 40 years ago for mine he is going to think they stitched his leg to the belly when he tries to stand! Our prayers for the both of you. Make sure he does slow down for a week or two after the surgery. Abdominal stiches are quite easy to tear out and when they do the are a problem for awhile.

I apologise for the delay, but we had a rough stretch. JD's appendix ruptured as they were prepping him and that made things exciting and the surgeon had to change her plans. I've never seen my husband in that much pain.

He got out of surgery around 9 as the doctor had to spend extra time cleaning up where the appendix burst.

It's after lunch here I'm Dallas and JD is moving around and walking. He's even complaining about there being no BBQ on the menu.

I hope to bring home Saturday.

As to hospital food the cooks failed in the military so they send them to the hospitals where they can do some good.
Sorry to hear things got exciting for a while but glad he was in the hospital when things did get interesting.

Darn, That bursting is a complication you didn't need. At least it happened right there during prep. I'm sure the Dr dosed him up with lots of IV antibiotics and some more pills to take. Please watch for any signs of infection setting in. He really should be up and moving quickly, just keep the arm down to keep from pulling at the insision. If he isn't up and around in a couple of days, or is having pain getting worse, CALL THE DOCTOR!

I don't want to be a downer but that bursting did change things, please watch for complications.
