.225 minimum, I prefer the "as cast for my bullets and use a .228 to just crimp on the GC and lube the .227 as cast bullets.

Actuall jacketed bullet size is .224, so for lead bullets I would go with .225 sizer

I use a .225 die for my contender barrel.

.225 is usually good for most 22 caliber guns. What is the platform you are loading for? If it is pre-war, and possibly into the early 60's, it may have .22 rimfire dimensions. In this case, .224 may be more appropriate. I think you will find that buying a few different sizing dies and giving them a test drive on the range may be necessary to find what works for YOUR gun.

Sorry, but there really isn't a one size fits all answer. If I had to bet my money, sight unseen, I think you will probably be best served by .225.

What is the internal neck size of a fired case? You might try that as a starting size but of course it all depends on the throat size and the step between the chamber and the throat entry.

I used a trick for seating .224 bullets in my hornet which was to fit a paper cup in the unsized neck then seat the bullet in that. I soaked that with molten 'waxy-lube' to glue the boolit in the neck. What this did was to align the bullet with the bore. Hence my suggestion of a boolit that fits the unsized neck.

While 225 is the general rule of thumb for most 22 rounds, don't assume that your boolits from your alloy will emerge from a 225 sizing die at .225 diameter. Measure with a good micrometer and then you will know.
