Well some place here there is going to be a Question. When I get to it. [smilie=1:
At 65 years young I don't get to things to fast anymore.
O K, My wife is the kind of girl that is unhappy if we don't by more guns.
Make more ammo, by more primers, go fishing, cast more BULLETS.
Make lube in the kitchen, I think you get the point :-D
Make it short Wolf---O K---O K.
Well Sat. she goes shopping at the store for some viddles for the cabin. Yes I said cabin. We live in the woods of Maine three miles from the black top.
12 miles from town. Any way she comes back with 80 pounds of clean roofing lead all rolled up. She said a store was going out of business.
She got it for 60 cents a pound. It was clean, all ready to be cut into nice little strips and melted down.
They had a milk crate full. I am thinking 500 pounds or so. Well she got 80#.
Thats all we could afford. :drinks:

All I have is 30 pounds of W W and now 80 of lead. I need to turn this into Boolits for my 45 a c p. I don't have tin and no antimony.
I will be shooting at about 800 F P S.
Is there a way I can mix the lead with the W W and get a good bullet for the
45 A C P
Other than sending the lead to you guy's what can I do. I have plenty of black powder bullets.

Cast one boolit with this and put it in a vise with one from ww on the other side of the vise. Tighten and see how much softer it is. Shoot your loads accordingly. Gianni

gray wolf,
What a wonderful wife you have!

Mix the lead/w.w. 50/50. That should make some fine .45 Cal bullets.

Graywolf,
My 45 acp's aren't to picky about what type of lead is in the mix. I've shot everything from pure lead to Linotype through em' and they do just fine.
Just cast em', lube em' and shoot em'. BTW I use 5.2-5.5 of unique to get them down range.

Thanks guys so far that is encouraging. and yes my wife is a great lady.
I thought that some bullet makers used to sell swaged lead bullets for the 45??
I shoot the pure lead at 1300 f p s in the black powder rifle with no leading.
Is there a difference??
I guess what I will do is mix 50/50 with the W W.
Sure wish I could use the pure lead.

You should see her in her Deer hunting outfit.
Rifle, pistol, camo, fanny pack, rope , knife and a whole bunch of other stuff I can't afford Ha,Ha,ha,. But dam that deer meet taste good.
Oh and by the way--- less I forget, thanks for the info on the lead.
I tried to do a search for swaged lead bullets for the 45 acp. I didn't have any luck but I am sure soft is O K as long as there not pushed to fast.
How the hell fast can you drive a target 45 a c p anyway??

A lot of the guys at my club shoot Star swagged 185gr. .45s for bullseye. They swear by them. I think they're made somewhere in the eastern midwest area.
