Getting ready to start loading a Steyr 95 in 8x56r. Thanks to the members here. Now I have a question. My barrel measured .316-.330. Would I be best to get a Lee .329 bullet mold and Beagle it up or the .338 mould and size down?

I vote sizing down. I would try about .334" first if they will allow chambering.

Oh and BTW I would size nose first after lubing.

Thanks for information. I always thought it best to not size down unless necessary? I see were you are coming from. In the 8x56r it would be hard to beagle a mould up that far, better to size down.

Usually a mold thet reads say .452 will cast larger. My Lee .452 will cast to .454. So you could probably shoot bullets as cast using the Lee. My experience using new two pin Lee mold has been bad (poor alignment, aluminum gaulds easily). I will sending it back for replacement. Iron molds are far better from my experience and last a lifetime if taken care of and lubed per instructions.

Thats one opinion and worth exactly what you paid for it.
