Gas Check .223...before or after?

I tumble lube all of my cast bullets. I usually tumble, gas check/size, re-tumble with no issues including my gc bullets. I am finding the gas checks to be a pain to seat on the .223 after I lube. Does anyone place the gas check before lubing, then size? What do you lube with on that first pass?

Got it, Gas Check, Lube, Size, Lube again.......I am using a 45/45/10 mix of Alox, Johnson's and Mineral Spirits for lubing before sizing. Any other suggestions?

Yup, just like everybody else has said...its waaay easier to put the check on and size before you lube if you are using tuble lube.

What I do is put on the gas check loosly, then smear on a little Imperial sizing die wax. Through the sizing die then off to tumble lube. Works real slick.
