Egg sinker size vs diameter

Does anyone have a cross reference for egg sinker size vs diameter? I need to go buy some for slugging and would like to know the best sizes.

I'm trying to avoid being the sketchy guy with the weird measuring device in Walmart...actually come to think of it, I get a feeling of pride everytime that I get a get a cross eyed look from an associate or shopper when I'm doing something like that...time to grab the calipers and run to the store!!!

IF the sinker I am using is to big, I screw a drywall screw in the hole, attach the drywall screw to my cordless drill and put the sinker next to some 220 grit sandpaper. Trims it right down to size

The 1/8 oz sinkers work up through 30 caliber and the 1/4 oz will work through 45 cal. If you are working at the upper end of the range you may have to give the sinker a rap or two with a hammer in order to make sure that it is large enough.

If I've got an egg sinker handy, great. If not I cast a boolit from pure lead and cut it off a little longer than calibre. I then drill a 1/8" hole thru the center. If its not big enough I bump it up in a vise.
Takes me longer to type it than to do it once the pot is hot.

Sure here you go. Now keep in mind some will need to be flattened a bit to make them a bit wider. Not a big deal as a vise will do it or so will a whack with a hammer. I had to do that to widen the #8 to fit my 45 Colt and 45-70. The 9mm worked great with the one for 38/357

If your sluging for strait wall grab a fired unprossed case, melt your egg sinkers in it and use your impact puller [you do have one right] and remove.

I take my micrometer to the fabric store! I shoot muzzle loaders.

I milled a couple holes in a ss block .01'' over each of my common bore sizes, then I cast up a pile of them. The empty cases is a good idea for not much hassle. I used to get 3/4 size for .40cal & 9/.38, then turn down to .008" oversize, can't remember the size for .45
