For those of us needing jacketed bullets (I do not cast for .224), Sierra Bullets has an online store. Most calibers are available and in stock. Sierra has always seemed a little expensive to me, but I don't think they raised their prices due to the panic buying. If you need something, look there.

Many of us would ask why we would need a jacketed bullet in the first place.

And many people here use them. I'm just trying to be helpful. Why even read the thread if you have no need?

It's hard to Beat the Sierra matchkings in 223 and 308. That's why some of us buy J-words.
Pls when you can get 55fmjs for $89 per k it's hard to find the time to casts .224 and buy a 2.5 cent gas check.

in support of Ickisrulz, I have a 22k hornet that just does not want to shoot cast as well as jacketed
-
it is probably operator error on the cast, but when I want fun with that rifle I go jacketed.

thanks for the heads up

GaryM1 pretty well sums it up. I shoot a lot of cast 22's, but they are not for p-dogs at over 200 yds.

I shoot full auto in 223 and 308, along with long range 308 shooting in a bolt Remington 700 PSS with a Burris 6x24. Cast just doesn't work. However, to be fair, I now shoot virtually ALL my submachinegun calibers in cast lead. No lead through the supressor, however.
So there ARE good reasons to buy jacketed.
You WERE kidding us, right?

Cast bullets do some things well.....Jacketed bullets do some things well. I shoot both. Thanks for the post.

They were out of stock of the .30 cal varmiters I wanted but looks like plenty of 22 cal prices are higher than midway had but that happens a lot to protect the distributors
