Just going to do a small update on the forum software tonight. It will be down for only a minute or so.

The "Today" feature is next to useless. Need the charactor count jacked up to whatever the maximum might be.

Chat is causing nothing but trouble, it's screwing up and slowing down the whole system. DUMP CHAT!!! What can be said there that can't be done on a thread here? Dump it.

Today feature is fixed.
I do like chat option, gives people a chance to join togeather and just chat back and forth. Just need to find a good one that works... And believe me, it's tough.

I do like the chat feature, and it has been getting a lot of use lately. My settings stay where I put them, but others' seem to change on them. I look at it, and see if I can figure out what button i pushed to make them stay.
Short day today, too much lightning.

Gotta agree with Scrounger--while I like the ability to discuss things in real time, the system and its instructions make no sense. Too many choices, and the controls have obtuse labels. Once set, the things don't stay set.
Keep it simple--BLACK text on pale to medium yellow background--this color scheme has worked on highway signs for a long time. Any system that gets too cute is prone to crashing--whether it's a digital program, legal procedure, or mechanical contrivance.
If these simple sorts of attributes can't be obtained, I suggest that chat be discontinued.

Yes. black on light background. Why is that such a problem?

I'm still not sure why people are having problems with the colors they are getting. Mine always stay the same, as I first set them. You might not have tried this;
Go to options. Click on the text tab. Check the box that says, "Use my text color for all recieved messages.
When ever you make changes, be sure to click on OK, for them to stay put. That may also be one of the problems.
Hopefully, this should solve some of the difficulties.

I just want the letters I type to be BLACK. No button seems able to do that. The whole thing pisses me off more and more every time I try to use it.

It's really no need to get upset over the chat room. If you don't like it, there is really no need to use it then.
I have to create a theme and edit text colors and make a yellowish image, and test this to see if it works, if it doesnt, re-do it and retest it. I am currently working to get it this way. It's not just a button to push and all is well..
It will be done though, give it some time.

Willy, just make the background yellow on ALL boards, and BLACK type on all boards. This has to be done at initialization. Initialization has a null characteristic, it appears. Have to find that in the source code, and force that to the desired colors. ... felix

You guys are coming to the chat board and leaving too fast. I check back every few minutes for someone there. ... felix

Ok, lets test this out. Go here:

Delete everything you see from castboolits.gunloads and then go join the chat and tell me how you like it..
