I need to draw upon the experience of the experts here. I've decided to get into casting my own sometime this year. I'm having a hard time however nailing down what I want. I'm looking for a good cast bullet that will work for pretty much everything from plinking to hunting. I don't want a heavy for caliber bullet just a good 210gr-220gr bullet. So does anyone have any ideas of what mold would best fill this role for me?

I was in on a group buy a while back for a clone of the H & G 258, which is the 220 gr Keith type bullet, from Miha. Don't know if he has any extras or if anyone wants to sell theirs (I don't).

Another good one is the out of production Lyman 410459, occasionally one will show up.

That or check one of the custom makers for something similar.

Edit to add: I've heard the 210 gr RCBS SWC is a good one also, but I don't have it so no first hand knowledge.

I had a 2 cavity RCBS 210gr SWC, Switched to a Saeco 4 cavity and had the same great results. I am looking to add to mine with a HP mold from a Mihec group buy.

I really like the Lyman mold but e-bay sellers are getting over $150 for a 2cav. You can have MM make you an exc 3cav for less. I ended up with the RCBS, a good representative SWC, runs aboout 215gr. I just wish I had another nice N-frame to shoot them out of.

For what it's worth I have the RCBS 210 in a 2 cavity and really like it.
