Am interested in knowing if anyone is loading the 125 lee rnfp in 380, particualarly if for a 380 Ruger LCP? If so, would you mind sharing the data. Know that it is heavy for the little 380, but think that IF it were sucessfully loaded with a flat point (and would feed), would make a decent CCW loading. Your thoughts please.

I thank in advance all who respond to this thread!

That bullet from my mold weighs in about 130 grs to start. I have loaded the Lee 120 tc in the .380 but safe loads limit you to velocities in the mid 700 fps range at max loadings. The Lee 125 rnfp due to it's design will require deeper seating in the.380 case(than the 120tc) even below the crimp groove depending on your throat. Safe pressures would I believe restrict you to velocities in the 600 fps range at best. I think it would be impractical and not very effective due to a very low velocity due to pressure restrictions. The answer is the Ranch Dog 100gr RNFP. It's meplat is larger than the 125 and can safely be run at 900 fps out of the little Keltecs and LCP's.

I load 95gr and 115gr for my lcp. I think the 95s work much better. Even 115s are pushing it. I tried it because I had 115s I made for 9mm, didnt like the results much. I dont have a manual that lists 125gr for the 380. I think that is pushing the OAL limit and reducing the small case capacity as it is.

I loaded the LEE 105gr SWC when I loaded for .380. Mild and managable.
I load the 105 and 125 (also 130gr lubed) for my 9mm and 38's.
Because it has a short fat ojive They have to be short in 9mm and some cases bulge.
