When working up an accuracy load for a .44 mag, how much do you increase the powder charge for each group of cases. Do you increase the powder charge by 2 tenths, 1/4 or 1/2 grain for each test batch of cases?

That will depend on the powder speed.
Fast powders use much less increase but with H110 or 296 I go 1/2 gr at a time.
Powders like Bullseye can go as low as 1/10 gr at a time.

even powders like unique and 2400 will do good enough with 1/2 gr increments to give you different sized groups.
with the bigger flake powders you need to go up a half grain just to see a difference and to throw the powder in the range you want it.

sometimes i settle on a powder charge like 9.3 grs of unique because it shoots pretty well and the powder measure likes to throw that charge consistently.

I narrow it down by 1/2 grain increments, then refine the load by 1 or 2 tenths. That's with medium to slow pistol powders and with faster powders I start with quarter grain increments then narrow down with .1 gr. differences. But I've got all the time I need for "testing"; I've been working on a load for my .44 Mag. Puma for about 12 years...[smilie=1::-D:-D

Depends on powders. For Unqiue or faster, 1/10gr is safe. For 2400 & slower, 3/10gr is fine. A 1/2gr increase w/ Unique is quite a lot, especially as you approach the top end.
