Was in a shop a couple of days ago and saw a Lyman 36 cal. cap and ball revolver in the case, had the original box with it and looked like, if fired any, very little.

Price was $99.00

Is this a good price?

Brass Frame or steel. That makes a big differance. But even a Brass frame would be a good buy if
the cylinder index,s correctly. If it does not, leave it be.

Some of Lyman's revolvers were made by Uberti. Look under the loading lever for their symbol/trademark.

I'd buy that in a second if it's all there and functions correctly.

100 bucks is a steal on any functioning little fired C&B. Sometimes there is a major problem like the chambers don't line up well and you are screwed without a new cylinder. Other times it only needs a $6 part or they swapped out the nipples and they were the wrong length (short) and it wouldn't fire reliably (easy shim job). I'd buy it even if it was just to resell it on line for $175.
