Sent this mould to Erik Hollowpoint for an increase in the boolit drivng band diameter to .360". Needless to say this mould's cavities were out-of-round in Lyman's best tradition. Now home and what initially was a test pour of one doz. or so to measure the new offspring diameter escalated to 100+ castings. Things got quickly out of hand as the boolits fell ever so easy from their respective cavity. Ya'll know how that is when all is going your way?
The largest boolits measured an indicated .3601" according to my finely crafted Sino electronic micrometer. A Lyman .360" H&I barely touched the bands, where a .359" H&I made the bands bright and gleaming.
Another 4x cavity may soon be subjected to Erik's skills, a 357466. Erik has also done good things to my formerly undersize Ideal 308290. Bands are now a true .311 along with a .301 'D' ring at the nose.
