I have a pretty much steady supply of lead that I reclaim from an air conditioned indoor shooting range. Most of the lead comes from 22's and the rest from jacketed boolits. I would smelt the "ore" the usual way and flux the batch twice with wax. I usually melt the lead in, or about, 300 pounds to get a little bit of uniformity. The molten lead is then poured in mini meatloaf pans and air cooled. I randomly did a BHN and came between a 6 - 7BHN.
Each ingot weight just a little over 10 pounds and I can securely pack FOUR ingots in a wooden box stuffed with newspaper that will snugly fit into a USPS flat rate box. [smilie=1:
By the way, you can use the box to store your boolits[smilie=1: :-D [smilie=1: :-D
The four ingots is going for $38.00 PLUS $9.50 - $8.95 to ship and $0.55 for the lumber, hardware and TLC. Total for each 40 pound is $47.50.
