Don't know about that, but I do know they allow concealed carry and open carry in their PA store. Also they sell all manner of firearms to include modern sporting rifles with no apologies to anyone.

Well, I'm glad Cabela's isn't running and hiding, like so many others. Like WE have done something wrong.

We have done something wrong we won't conform to O'bummers "AGENDA" We want to be free thinkers, and not lead around by the nose like many of the Lemmings in this country that listen to there co-conspirators, "The Misinforming Media". There our worse enemy repeating verbatim what ever O'bummers Storm-troopers tell them. They don't even know what there reporting half the time!! Constantly misinforming the public with "Catch Phrases" like "Weapon's of War", AR-15, AK-47, Semi Automatic and one of my favorites "SPRAY AND PRAY" weapons!

It was Gander Mountain that did that. Far as I know, Cabela's is good to go. Overpriced a bit, but I've bought a few guns from them over the years.

Didn't sound like something Cabelas would do, pretty sure their meeting rooms are booked up with CHL classes and the like these days. I agree Cabelas is often not the cheapest place to buy something but they have good stuff for a fair price. I don't agree with the offers they've made on a few of my rifles but the firearms I've bought there have been priced fairly and they have a huge overhead.
I'm glad they support the NRA and responsible firearms ownership. They also support local organizations and charities as well as employing local people. We need more companies like that. I believe Bass Pro has a similar attitude. My only regret is that they've put many mom-and-pop sporting goods stores out of business.

Cabelas in Richfield WI hosts CCW classes monthly, allows CCW and sells all types of CCW stuff.

Non CCW weapons must be check/processed at the front door.

The fine print in Cabelas says that is a NRA discount for "in store only" As I posted elsewhere, I don't think I'll drive 200 miles to take advantage of that offer. Cost me more in gas than what it is worth.
ALSO SHOWS HOW SINCERE CABELAS IS ABOUT THIS OFFER!!!!

I must be dim. I see a corporation offering many thousands of dollars in discounts (plus administration costs) to promote membership in our premier national gun rights organization. I don't see them receiving anything in return for this effort except diminished corporate profits. Sounds pretty sincere to me. Could you explain why you think it isn't?

I agree. For them it is a loss leader, like a coupon or sale item to get you in the store. They would expect to quickly turn that gift card around and get more than the $25 dollars in sales.

Have spent, do spend, and will continue to spend a few hundred bucks a year at Cabelas. All mail order, since a 200 mile round trip is not cost effective.
I wonder how many within spitting distance of their store, who complain about their high prices on this and other boards, broke the sound barrier to get in there, calculator in hand, to grab $24.99 worth of merchandise, and chuckle about how they stuck it to the man.
Cabelas didn't ask my opinion, but if it was MY company, I'd look at my corporate profits, my loyal customer base, and conveniently accommodate THEM, first, and then the guy down the block. Customer appreciation.
That's my feeling on this. If you understand and follow, well and good. If not .... Oh well ..... sorry
Just sayin' [smilie=1:

So what if Cabela's is doing as a loss leader to get you in the store. You think every other business doesn't do that? Cabella's is supporting the NRA which is the largest gun rights organization (also the largest "civil rights" organization) in this country and the world. It is also the one that is most respected by the opposition liberals, socialists and communists (they wouldn't fear and denegrate the NRA at every turn if they didn't respect it [respect is not always a positive BTW]) because it is the most effective. It takes members and dollars to be effective.

You think liberal democrats won't drive 200 miles to support their party/candidate? You think the liberal democrats whine, criticise and complain like conservatives and obviously a lot of gun owners about spending a few extra dollars to support their cause? Is it no wonder obama is president again and we lose every time we turn around? We can't even agree on a company that is supporting us/gun owners and the NRA even though they are a business.....good grief........we (conservatives and gun owners) are indeed our own worst enemies........

I will shop at Cabella's and spend a few dollars more.....I will shop at my local gunshops and spend a few dollars more........I will support the NRA and other pro gun organizations and businesses even if I have to spend a few mor dollars. After all, if (probably closer to "when" if we can't get together and move in a concerted manner to defend our 2nd Ammendment from further "infringment") we lose our guns what are you going to spend all those dollars you saved on??? Probably the latest texting device made in china..........

Let's get together and move forward as a concerted group even though we don't agree on everything. The democrats/ liberals/ socialists and communists have been doing that for years now and are winning........if we don't do the same we lose.........

Hmm, my gander mountain has a sign in the entrance that's welcomes all legally carried firearms in their store. And also had my CPL class in their store.

I wouldn't drive 200 miles to a Cabelas but, at least there backing up there commitment to Gun Owners with actions. Even if you choose not to take advantage of things like this if your not a member of the NRA why not benefit a little? And even if you don't like Cabelas I can't believe anyone on this site couldn't spend 25 bucks in one of there stores!! Thought it was a nice thing to do even though they are trying to make a buck?
