If you're going to juice it up you will probably need straight wheelweights, maybe even heat treated. For midrange loads I'd see if 50/50 WW/ Pure works (is hard enough). It can be heat treated to about 22BHN, so if it turns out to be too soft, just HT it. I use the 50/50 air cooled in my 9mm at 1000 fps for a target load. If your boolit carries enough lube it shoots purty good!

50/50 pure lead/lino will give you 92-6-2 alloy....same as commercial Teracorp Magnum alloy....seems to work very well in the Forty Short and Weak.

Thanks a lot, for the info

What will the approximated hardness for 50/50 lino/Lead be?
And for 25% / 75% Lino/Lead

IIRC 50/50 is about 12 BHN air cooled. Oops, that's 50/50 WW/ Pure.

I've been using 75/25 WW/Lino for 40 S&W and usually a 1# bar of 60/40 bar solder in the 30 pound magma pot just to get a little better mold fill out. Same for my 9mm's. 45 ACP I use hardly any Lino if any. Most of my 45 ACP shootin' is under 800 fps.

I've been shooting straight wheel weight lead dropped into water, cast in the Lee 175 grain tumble lube mold with liquid Alox. Working great.

I use the Lee TL 401-175, WWs+a little tin. Size them as soon as they cool, then let them rest for 2-3 weeks. I like mine consistant in weight 171.5 grs. I've been thinkin about trying some out of 50/50- WW/pure(soft). BTW i also am experimenting with WSF= good velocity/low presure. dissadvantage=low volume
