Still praying, Joe. My father in law had one lobe of one lung removed in the 50's because of TB. Kept smoking all the time I knew him. Did not take care of himself. Had chronic bronchitis but died of a heart attack. After he retired (GS16) he quit smoking and started exercising. Was able to hike with us, slowly, but did it, before he died.

Do all the therapy plus. It's hard but doable.

The worst thing when they removed a chunk of my lung was the chest tube after the operation. It sure felt a lot better when they removed it. Do what they ask for rehab and all should be OK. You will probably get titanium staples. Mine was due to spindle cell melanoma. Good luck. Mark

Prayers offered up. Focus on the struggle one step at a time. First, get thru surgery. Then worry about rehab. And focus on the things that are important to you, family, friends, relationships. Lay aside the unimportant for a time. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it; if you would do for a friend or relative in the same situation; ask.

(there's a time for everything under the sun) There was a time when you were hale and strong and completely self-sufficient and able to respond to other's needs, this is a time to accept that same kind of help you so willingly gave others when you were able.

blessings,
vern
